The port staff is very friendly and speaks English, but in the longer queues, Spanish drivers make a mess, a complete lack of driving culture, drivers from Morocco are more better than them...

This port is great for boarding and disembarking from and to Spain (and other countries) from and to Morocco. On entry it is quite easy with a car as long as you have all your paperwork with you. Money exchange is easy and professional. BUT and it was our only BUT during a whole month of driving around Morocco the only time we had to give money to have a job done that was free was on entry to the port our tickets had to be printed. The 2 guys on the gate who printed off our tickets wanted money to carry out the task they were already being paid to do. And when I said I was going over to the booth(s) to change my money back they brought me into their “office” where the tickets were printed and “exchanged” the cash at a awful rate and from a small wooden drawer. When I questioned the rate all of a sudden they did not speak English!! I wrote to both the Port Authority and Moroccan Tourist Board - never received a reply from either of them. So finally, during a whole month of driving 3,500 km around Morocco the only time we were “taken for a ride” was on leaving by the Port Authority staff.
