Hotels in Leiden

I have stayed here before when I was in Europe and was amazed to receive the same level of service. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and spacious and the location is perfect….a 5 minute walk to the train station and 10 minute walk to the heart of Leiden shopping. I will definitely stay here again.

The room was clean ,clean towels changed regularly although bin in bathroom wasnt emptied the last 3 days. The reception staff were efficient and helpful .

Staff was warm and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable an in a quiet part of the hotel.

POSITIVE : the location was good because we had a car, including the secure parking garage. The hotel email telling us the address of the car park wait area was good to receive, BUT to not mention the massive amount of road works getting to it was a major problem. Not the best night’s stay The room was stuffy and there was no air conditioning. The shower was very disappointing - the water that came out of the shower-head more like a dribble! The pillows were lumpy and not very comfortable. Sadly we didn’t spend a very good night at the Tulip Inn.

The staff at the reception desks were always helpful and friendly. We felt welcome when we arrived. We were pleased that we could use the pool, but was surprised that hotel guests are only allowed to use the pools in the morning between 8 and 9.30am, as the rest of the day, usage of the facility became part of a payable spa experience open to public. It is my 4th or 5th stay at this hotel. It is good and practical to explore Leiden and get to Schiphol airport. Rooms are big enough for two persons. This time we stayed on the 11th floor. It is more cumbersome to get there as you have to change elevators, but the room was more spacious. The newly renovated reception looks good.

For the 4 nights I stayed, they didn't make up my room before the last night.

Great hotel in a central location of Leiden, near the old town centre and near central train station, which is only a 11 minutes train ride from the Hague. Parking available.

Only one socket for charging in the room, bed mattress is poor quality a collapsed one, toilet door has big gap visible from the room lacking privacy, only paper cups were provided in the room, need to get normal cups from reception

Had an amazing stay! Supper friendly, great location, seamless check in and out! They have AC (which is wonderful for those warmer days). Just a great experience overall! Definitely recommend!

The location is good, close to the central train station, city hall, large supermarkets, and there are many places to eat around.

Check in was quick and the front desk staff was warm and friendly. However, after staying for two nights, the room was not cleaned and I had to clean it myself.

We stayed for one night over the weekend. This hotel is not in the centre of Leiden and bed + bfst for 2 guests at nearly 220 Euros, I thought was super expensive. Staff acted like they don’t want to be there and the rooms are old. Breakfast was nice, but would not stay again.

Judy for one night I got there at 5.30 pm and was a little scared no receptionist, but the person over the phone was very helpful and opened the door remotely. A hotel in the square of a lovely town. Booking in was easy and if needed your cases were taken to your room for you as no lift there the only downside and some of the stairs were quite steep. Old style European hotel with dated facilities- but the location and view were great. I found the bed to be comfortable but firm and the curtains kept the light out. My friend’s mom says it’s haunted but we did not encounter any spirits, ghosts, haints, or geists. Staff was kind and we were able to get in early and leave our bags at reception when we had a late flight. I would stay again.

Stayed here for a day during the NS strikes, great decision. Brilliant view of the city and spacious rooms. Will definitely return someday.

We absolutely loved this hotel. Going back there this July. Room was spacious , and bathroom was big. Loved the coffee and tea bar in the room, as well as the fridge. Plenty of places to hang our clothes. Location was perfect. Enjoyed being able to sit outside

The room was nice and clean with a bathtub and two extra comfortable beds. New coffee machines are coming, which will be a good addition. What pulls down the rating for me is the internet connection that drops out every minute, and low noise isolation from the balcony. If you are a light sleeper, expect to be awake in the weekends till past 3.

the hotel was great. however ******* gave us a wrong address and we had to pay 30€ for an uber to take us to the hotel. very disappointed in *******. the hotel was amazing and the service was great.

So far so good. Very friendly personal. We felt welcome. Bathroom could be bigger, especially for tall persons.

For the price you get a big room, and everything is in there, it is agood place to stay

Stayed here for two and an half weeks with my group of 20+ people and it was such a great experience. The staff is so friendly and kind, always there for anything you may need. Our room was super spacious and beautiful. De Doelen is also in an amazing location, walking and biking distance to Main Street and lots of other places. Highly recommend!

A wonderful 3 night stay in this beautiful authentic hotel. The owners are incredibly helpful and unfailingly cheerful. My sister and I had rooms on the ground floor, the beds are comfy and clean, the bathrooms perfect with good toiletries, lots of hot water and clean towels. Breakfast us classic continental and plenty to fuel you for the day. We really enjoyed this hotel in a great location

We stayed here in the 3rd of October for the Festival celebrations. The hotel is a lovely old traditional property with original details etc. We stayed in the top room (no2) which was basic but clean and adequate for our needs. The staff are very helpful and speak very good English. The best think about this hotel is its position, it could not be better.

Great ambiente and location! Historical building dated 1633. We had an amazing room and a great view! But most of all my and my husband enjoyed the hospitality and the kindness of the owner. We will be back again! Dankuwel!

Quiet hotel in the heart of Leiden. Polite and friendly staff. I stayed in a single room no.11. It is small but tidy. Bathroom is completely renovated. There are many shops and bars around. Local breakfast was included in the price.

Cozy and historic house. with view to the canal and buzy streets. Also with loads and loads of bickes. Location is great, in the city center, next to the several museums. Japan museum is just other side of the canal. The stuff in the hotel is very friendly and helpful , made our stay there really pleasant and memorable.

Convenient, clean and good value

No breakfast, had to go next door to rembrandt and pay 16euros for two slices of bread and a dolls cup of orange juice. Stairs up to the attic room were steep and tiny and dangerous. Room was cold with only a portable oil radiator for heat. I think 150 euros a night for this was too much.

Hotel was clean and safe. The staff was very accommodating and freindly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Right in middle of everything . Small room but perfect for what u need. Nice comfy bed, bathroom/shower, TV. No a/c but room did have fan kept room fresh. Across there’s a pub, a lot of food options in walking distance. 7 min walk from Leiden Central Station. Very pleasant stay.

Everything was amazing about our stay here. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Check in was easy and pleasant. The location is ideal and it was completely silent in our room. Some of the reviews mention noise but we had absolutely no issues with that. We even had access to a lovely balcony from our room with an awesome view of the university next door. Very Nice experience at steenhof suites! We were welcomed incredibly friendly, the room we stayed in was very fancy and pretty and in less than 5 minutes we were in the beautiful City centre. This is a great place. The room was huge and very comfortable. The location is ideal - right on a beautiful canal in the center of the city. The owner was very helpful. She and one of her staff helped us with our luggage over the steep staircase. So that was not a problem for us.

First this room has a fabulous shower and quaint old style room in a small terraced house in a very old quaint part of town. Im not sure why this is called a hotel, its really just a room in a very old house (17th century i believe).
