Stayed here for two and an half weeks with my group of 20+ people and it was such a great experience. The staff is so friendly and kind, always there for anything you may need. Our room was super spacious and beautiful. De Doelen is also in an amazing location, walking and biking distance to Main Street and lots of other places. Highly recommend!

Beware of unreliable reservations with De Doelen. We had a confirmed booking which we booked 3 months ahead of time to ensure we had hotel which met our needs. 2 weeks prior to our confirmed arrival date we received email informing us that the hotel was overbooked. At this late date we could not find a central location which met our needs. Do not trust this hotel to provide what they promise

A wonderful 3 night stay in this beautiful authentic hotel. The owners are incredibly helpful and unfailingly cheerful. My sister and I had rooms on the ground floor, the beds are comfy and clean, the bathrooms perfect with good toiletries, lots of hot water and clean towels. Breakfast us classic continental and plenty to fuel you for the day. We really enjoyed this hotel in a great location

We stayed here in the 3rd of October for the Festival celebrations. The hotel is a lovely old traditional property with original details etc. We stayed in the top room (no2) which was basic but clean and adequate for our needs. The staff are very helpful and speak very good English. The best think about this hotel is its position, it could not be better.

Great ambiente and location! Historical building dated 1633. We had an amazing room and a great view! But most of all my and my husband enjoyed the hospitality and the kindness of the owner. We will be back again! Dankuwel!

Quiet hotel in the heart of Leiden. Polite and friendly staff. I stayed in a single room no.11. It is small but tidy. Bathroom is completely renovated. There are many shops and bars around. Local breakfast was included in the price.

Cozy and historic house. with view to the canal and buzy streets. Also with loads and loads of bickes. Location is great, in the city center, next to the several museums. Japan museum is just other side of the canal. The stuff in the hotel is very friendly and helpful , made our stay there really pleasant and memorable.

Really nice stay in a friendly, comfortable hotel with a very welcoming vibe. It’s not swanky or modern, but it’s well looked after, brilliantly situated and had everything we needed for our stay. My top floor room, a single, was fairly small, but the first floor double that my daughter and friend shared was lovely, airy and bright.

Good location , close to shops and an eight minute walk from Railway and Bus Station. Check in time 12 noon which is much earlier than most Hotels. Kettle in room, room cleaned every day. Staff very nice and helpful. A LOT of external noise from people sitting outside in nearby bars, possibly less of an issue in Winter or colder weather. Due to noise could not keep window open at night, as it was hot weather this made room too hot at night. A fan in room would be a great idea (Hint to owners!) If returning I would request a room where there was no external noise. Breakfast an extra 9.50 euros was nice and value for money. WiFi was fine. This is an old Dutch House so there are stairs to climb, I think there may be a room on ground floor though.

Comfortable room with everything you could need, very friendly and helpful staff, good clean service and amazing breakfast. I totally recommend it.
