10/10. No notes. Well... maybe one. That alarm really needs to sort itself out. 😂
We escaped to for a little getaway, and honestly, what a gem.
The food was ridiculously good (someone needs to tell the chef to stop making everything so delicious because my jeans are filing a complaint), and the bar staff deserve hazard pay for putting up with our absolutely sense of humour. They laughed with us... or at us. Either way, we'll take it.
The hotel alarm also decided to malfunction and provide everyone with a very enthusiastic wake-up call. Nothing says "relaxing weekend away" quite like an unexpected adrenaline rush before breakfast. The best part was how the team handled it with laughs, banter, and professionalism, turning what could've been a stressful start into just another funny story.
Then they brought out my cheesecake with sparkles and a candle, which was ridiculously thoughtful and almost made me look like I had my life together.
But jokes aside, the thing that really stuck with us was the people. Despite carrying their own grief, every single staff member still showed up with warmth, kindness, and the sort of hospitality you just can't fake. That's pretty bloody special.
So thank you for feeding us, laughing with us, celebrating my birthday, and making what could've been a chaotic morning feel like part of the adventure.
We'll absolutely be back. Hopefully next time the only thing making noise is us. ❤️

Perfect food, excellent service. Pasta special was amazing. Fresh fish Gurnard panfried to perfection with iceberg lettuce salad and dressing. Great chips. Warm fire, cold beer, great view. What more could you want?

Beautiful setting, great staff. Just fabulous. We stayed a few nights in our caravan. Dogs were welcome in the garden bar and the bar. We had the heated swimming pool to yourselves for the evening. Lovely food, and even a menu for our dogs. Will tell my friends, as this place is worth a visit

Real kiwi proper pub hotel. Excellent reception and service from owner who couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Other staff great too.
Pizza was yummy.

Very easy check in. Our room looked a little tired but very spacious and clean. Comfy bed. Don’t be put off by not having en-suite facilities, we had no problem using the bathrooms when we needed them. Ate on site, delicious meals. All staff very helpful and friendly.
