Gaustablikk, 372 Kvitåvatnvegen 🧭 Map
The room was clean, cozy, and had a good view.
The staff was friendly enough.
The restaurant had great food. We had the reindeer, turbot, and grouse. The turbot and reindeer should not be missed if you are staying here.
The atmosphere was quiet, pleasant, and quaint.
Great hotel with a small indoorspa and including a good pool and an amazing floating lake Sauna. Great range of public rooms with fireplaces to create a semblance of coziness. Excellent dining options. Rooms are slightly small and lack seating and tea/coffee making basics but are genuinely cozy with stunning views. Good in room tech. Easy access to ski school hire shop and lifts. Not ski in ski out...
Everything about this hotel is exceptional. I highly recommend staying here
Best Ceaser salat jeg spist ! Amazing breakfast, good option for food, fresh bread ! Very clean, toilets are very clean and smells good !
Stunning facility, beautiful amenities and views.
Restaurant sold out several nights
All in all good stay but the restaurant was sold out several nights. They should keep some spaces for the people who are staying at the hotel or inform at check in that the restaurant is busy.

Gaustablikk, Kvitåvatnvegen 398, 3660 Gaustablikk, Norway 🧭 Map
Coming from the UK, we'd never really come across the 'Fjellstue' concept - it's somewhere between a full hotel, and a hostel. It's a bit like a 'budget flights' hotel, but with out the constant upselling you get from the airlines. (Also trying to compare it to budget airlines is slightly demeaning to the Fjellstue, but it's the best analogy I could make)
We'd come to the site from a hostel in Oslo...
Very good location, rooms are clean, amazing view. However, the food quality was bad. Basically they served a leftover food from 1-2 days ago and we all got stomach problem right after having dinner!
Recommend to either bring food or go and grab food from somewhere else!
Amazing location. Comfortable rooms and balconies. However, paid around $30 (289 NOK) per person for a buffet dinner of chicken and pasta that was reheated and dry... and gave us diarrhea. So, if you come on an off-day (not Friday or Saturday nights) it might be best to bring food or go down the mountain for some fresh grub.
On another note, shampoo and towels are not included in the cost.
Great place to stay! We stayed here because we wanted to hike up to Gaustatoppen. It's the perfect location because its only a short drive to get to the parking lot. On a clear day, you'll be able to see the top of Gaustatoppen. The facilities are great, it even has a sauna. The rooms are spacious and large and incredibly clean. There is a basin in the room so you can fill your water bottle and brush...
Clean hostel-like accommodation in a fantastic Norwegian setting high up in the mountains. Excellent view on Mount Gausta. Free canoes on the nearby lake. Close to ski tracks. Good food. Highly recommended.
Nice view, cosy rooms & very
Friendly hosts!
