Hotels in Geilo

The ski resort hotel has many outdoor facilities, but unfortunately they're closed in the summer. There's not much to eat around, so you can only dine at the hotel. The hotel itself is quite nice, clean and hygienic. It has four beds; the guardrails on the upper bunks are rather low, so please be careful.

Facilities: Ski hotel; these activities are not available in summer. Environment: The environment is quite nice; the hotel has many of the owner's personal collections. Service: The service is also acceptable.

This is a ski resort,but we were there in June. Nice rooms,excellent restaurant and very easy parking! Not much around the hotel itself,but it had a lot of activities. Pretty much halfway between Bergen and Oslo if you are driving.

Everyone was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good. We had to check out in the middle of the night to catch a 2:30 AM train. In my hast pack to catch our cab, I managed to leave my laptop in my room. I’ve messaged the hotel several times through the Booking app, trying to arrange to have it sent to me (at my expense, of course) but after almost two weeks, I still haven’t received a reply

The environment and facilities are good, but why did they charge me twice for the meal? Didn't the hotel staff know that I had already paid? The reception only knows how to collect money?

The staff is very nice and really helpful! They did everything they could to make it a nice stay. And the hotel itself lies next to the ski area. The skipass and ski rent can be done also in the hotel. But it is a very old hotel and the rooms are not the best for the category this hotel shows. Very old bathrooms. The spa is definitely not a spa. Very small indoor whirlpool for maybe max 2-3 people...

Very vintage hotel, with lots of amenities and the hotel is massive!! Very unique experience

We stayed here one night on our way back from Bergen to Oslo. It is a big sprawling (in a nice way) hotel! Comforting, traditional ski lodge style feel but the room was modern and spacious with a balcony for me, my wife and 15yr old son. The bathroom was very snug though, but clean. Ok. The bathroom in my room had a terrible smell of sewerage. Hotel generally pretty tired. Otherwise ok as a stop off.

Very unique and intriguing building but obviously old so not everything worked well. Rooms are quite hot and no fans are available. Knob for starting shower fell off making it difficult to turn on the shower.

The studio apartment I booked had two single beds and one bunk bed. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped with a stove, tableware, and dishwasher. Meals weren't included in the room, but the room's amenities made it easy to buy and prepare your own food, which was very convenient. Stayed July 2024 with family of 5 in a one bedroom apartment for one night while driving between the fjords and Oslo. There is a separate bedroom for parents, while the kids slept in the cozy bunk beds and they setup and additional bed for my 3rd child. We rented two cabins in connection with the Skarverennet 2025. The cabins contribute to a nice social setting when we are many colleagues on a trip. We have been regular guests at Bardøla in connection with Skarverennet for around 20 years and we will also return for Skarverennet the weekend 17-19 April 2026!

We had a fantastic stay as a family of four skiing in Geilo. Location is ten min walk from town, but also right outside the ski bus stop. Apartment was basic but clean, and had a great view out towards Vestlia. Beds were not the best, and it was a shame the TV had no option to cast or access apps, but the shower was really good. Fantastisk value for money, vi kom i lavsesong som nok påvirket prisene, og ble attpåtil oppgradert (takk). Alt gullende rent, gullbra opplegg - hadde med sengetøy&håndkler selv, og betalte mindre enn et kjipt stabbursrom på Haukeliseter (uten bad, og det medlemspris til tross). Ekstra stjerne for med svømmebasseng og badstue (koster 50kr/snute)

There's a ski resort right across from us, but the slope and length look terrible. I don't understand why it's a tourist destination; they're so ignorant. The only ridiculous thing is that you have to pay 150 kronor a day to rent their sheets. Who brings their own sheets when they travel? There's a fairly spacious underground parking garage inside.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a large apartment with a spectacular view of the valley and the river. There’s an extensive network of paths easily accessible from the hotel. It is an easy walk into town and the train station.

I was surprised to find a ****** note during breakfast. I asked the owner to correct it.

The hotel is very good, with a history of more than 100 years. The breakfast is rich and delicious. There are supermarkets and restaurants not far from the door. English communication is fully understandable.

There is no water bar in the room and no floor towels in the bathroom

I stayed here with family twice this year. The cabins are cosy. The beds are very comfortable, the cabin is warm and the kitchen had everything we needed to self cater. The staff were friendly and helpful and I would love to visit again.

Very nice beds and kitchen, it has fridge and dishwasher, sauna, upstairs and downstairs bathroom. We hit our head on the ceiling some times. Some thing is also broken. Could get more shelve in the bedroom. Have wifi.

Smashing little place for self-catering ski holidays. Hytten are well appointed, clean and warm. The snow was very deep till the kids got hold of it. This side of the resort is percet for beginner to intermediate and the regular busses that run to the other side of town will have advanced skiiers on the runs quickly. Great value family accommodation close to good April skiing. Assuming you are not looking for five star hotel accommodation these cabins are conveniently located and well maintained. We stayed in the more modern “superior” cabin which lacks a covered outside space but has a wonderful view. The older cabins have more kitchen space but we managed to cook fine for 10 in the space we had. We’ve been before...

The cabins are perfectly situated close to Geilo Center, and the nice hiking tour around Ustedalsfjorden. All cabins have nice surroundings between the trees, which makes it cosy. We have spent several summervacations here, and Geilolia always delivers. Sitting out on the terrace with table and chairs on a sunny day ,or spending time inside by the fire feels great. we were six ladies having a fabulous weekend at Geilo. The apartment had all we required, and was very well equipped. But since the area still is a building site, the environment was a bit slippery and dirty.

Cozy and warm cabin where you are instantly out in the nature once you step out. The shared toilet and shower is clean and comfortable. I tried their sauna and it was very relaxing. I recommend this place for anyone who like to spend time alone with nature when visiting Geilo. I decided to extend one more night upon arriving.

Basic Rooms were very basic but beds were ok . Toilets and showers were very clean

I stayed at Øen Turistsenter for five nights in February 2025. The Customer Service was excellent, including one of the staff helping me with the washing machine, my Hytte was warm and breakfast great. Only drawback going outside to the loo at night and to wash. Otherwise I have no complaints at all, and I would recommend Øen Turistsenter to anyone I know who would like to visit Geilo.

Local cozy and warm cabin where you are connected to the nature with outdoor toilet in winter and summer I recommend it so strongly with nice and kind lady welcoming you next morning for not included breakfast.

This property was perfect for our needs. Very simple, very clean, very affordable, and the staff was very friendly.

Centrally Located Apartment Good location in the centre of Geilo. We had a two bed apartment with a lounge area, kitchen and bathroom. Very comfy bed. Downsides, you can't specify where in the block you want to be. We really enjoyed the stay very nice place!

Good location, a 5-10 mins walk from the station, short distance to the ski bus stop. Ski storage room in the block. Lots of supermarkets within walking distance. Quiet at night. Well equipped apart from no tea towel or microwave. TV bigger than the one we have at home! Tiny second bedroom with bunk beds but was OK for our teenagers for three nights.
