Guests will find basic yet clean accommodations with a focus on value, reflected in its competitive rates around $180 per night. The hotel provides free parking, WiFi, and a restaurant, and it supports pet owners with the allowance of pets, although service animals are explicitly permitted under the policy. The rooms were basic but for the price and locations it was perfect. I have stayed in many small 'quirky' places and this has made it into my top 5. We absolutely LOVED our stay here, and it all came down to the kindness of the owners.

From the second we walked in there door were offered assistance and help with everything. The owner had some free time so drove us up the mountain to the ski area so we could hire our gear without having to lug it back on the bus. We were told everywhere to go up the mountain and how to organise lessons. The bus time table was then clearly explained so we knew how to get up there in the morning and back after skiing each day. Service was beyond amazing and the owners are some one the nicest people I have met while traveling. Just wanted to assist with everything and ensure we had a wonderful holiday.

I would make the journey back and stay here again. It was wonderful.
Of you want to experience Trysil and all its beauty don't stay at the big chains stay here.

Poor breakfast and inconsistent, terrible dinner and over priced, kids half size fish came swimming in oil and was the same size as my full size lamb that was the size of an entree. The door lock went flat and was left hanging off the door. The shower head sprayed everywhere including vertically to the ceiling, holes in the walls from screws that weren't patched. . A damn broken half toilet brush that was worn out. No wardrobes to hang clothes.

The location is good and easy to find, parking is also good. No keys it's all entry via keypad codes. Even for Norway 135kr for a beer is ridiculous (especially when the brewery is attached to the same building) the windows open in the rooms which is nice

We stayed in the hotel for 1 week. Room was very noisy and you could hear it all from the neighbors. They only changed our towels and vacuumed the room on day 5. Hot water was only available in the morning, so could not shower after ski day. Bed linens are good, but mattresses are very soft and not good for your back. An interesting one: I was listening to an audio message on my phone in the breakfast area and an employee asked me to put my phone down as it was bothering other guests (?). Everything very special, I am definitely not coming back.

Nice hotel, clean and the beds are very comfortable. Two chairs in the room is really good. A good breakfast with a lot of bread but no warm food. The negative is you can hear noice from the hallway very well. And the trash bin in our toilet was not emptied from the last guests..

It makes sense to split the review of this hotel into two parts in order to provide an accurate assessment.

Restaurant - fairly busy when we arrived here at 18:00ish. One Host/Waiter/ Receptionist and One chef handled all the services. There were approx 14 guests there. The service was exceptional, charming and friendly (of course he was Swedish). We ordered the game and burger. Both tasty and nicely served. Deserts were also very good. Compliments to the one staff: Chef who kept banging out meals for the guests.

Accommodation- registration or lack of any requirement and access to room was smooth. I understand this is a simple/ basic offering however there are certain expectations that must be met when running a hotel. Firstly, it classifies itself as a hotel and not a motel. At a daily rate of $90-$100 a good night’s rest and comfort is the bare minimum that needs to be provided, which sadly this hotel has failed at.

The rooms are very”tired” looking and frankly the old carpet looks grotty and unwelcoming. The room was dusty. The TV didn’t work. The beds are rather uncomfortable but even worse is the fact that one horrible pillow - one shouldn’t even consider them as pillows as they have no padding and one large cushion ( which has no changeable cover) is placed on the bed. Just very uninviting and didn’t feel clean, was very uncomfortable. To top It off I was given Room #20. This is in front of the stairs- I heard every person and every interaction that goes on outside the hallway and also heard guests going down the stairs from 07:00

I feel more tired than when I checked in and didn’t have any sleep. Not part of my expectation when I check into a hotel.

I will happily go the restaurant and bar, but as far as hotel accommodation, the hotel Management really needs to step up and sort it out. If you bill yourself as rustic and quaint, it means one still has to pay attention to providing basic comfort, quality and service. This review is given in good spirit as the hotel as many ingredients and just needs some improvements. Thanks

Very disappointed - had to cancel one (!) single night more than one week (!) before the stay, but full (expensive) rate was charged with no sign of goodwill whatsoever - even though we asked several times. Yes, it was part of the (extremely restrictive) booking conditions, but most hotels apply goodwill in similar situations.

Will not choose this hotel again and recommend to avoid it.
