We had a fantastic stay at this lovely hotel in historic Røros. The room was simple, small, but cozy, tasteful and well-equipped. The staff are welcoming and eager to help, including the extraordinary Nina at the reception, a great guide for the town and area. The hotel is in a historic farmhouse that's beautifully located next to the stunning church, and ideal for visiting the town and environs (in winter you can even borrow one of their sleds to get around). Finally a word about the amazing breakfast with a generous selection of jams, herring, salmon, cheeses, yogurt, eggs, bacon and cured meats, all locally sourced if not home-made, like the cakes and tea available day and night in the salon. You're sure to have a wonderful stay!

I stayed one night in historical room and one night in normal room, both of them were very pleasant and clean. The highlight of the stay was storytelling from Nina from reception who was sharing history of Røros with other guests. She was very polite and made the atmosphere homelike. As a globetrotter herself, she understand the needs of travelers well.
I liked the cosy common room where you could come whenever you wanted and help yourself with free coffee/tea and cakes/cookies which was an excellent touch especially after the whole day sightseeing in the cold.
I enjoyed also the decor in the hotel and tasty buffet breakfast.
The hotel is situated in the heart of Røros and offers free car parking for guests.

What a place to be in the middle of February. Snowy streets, the most amazing friendly staff you’ll ever meet, a cosy room with additionel common areas with access to coffee, tea and homemade cake and finally a breakfast that was clearly local made and of excellent quality. A big plus for us, was the opportunity to bring our dog.
Our visit happened to be just as the world championship in dog sledding started and this was an incredible experience.

We had a lovely 1-night stay at Erscheidergarden. Our tiny room was clean and had everything we needed. Bed was comfy. Breakfast buffet was delicious with a good variety of food. Connie, our host, was friendly and spoke great English. She gave us recommendations for restaurants.
We gave the hotel a 4 rating for location because it was a long walk up the hill from the train station, but that was a plus as well. We would definitely stay here again.

A first class Hotel with very friendly host.
the timber wall building was from 1860, with cozy interior and a huge open fire place ' Peis' in the dining room.
still the buildings are top modern with all facilities and each room has its own history.
I want to return to this place winter time.
Can be highly recommended!
