A bit far from the town, but that's why I can rest quietly. The air conditioner wasn't working but staff brought us a big fan :) Thank you for your kindness.

We have spent a lot of holidays at this hotel. Always a warm welcome.

This hotel is great . It is family owned and absolutely lovely . The rooms so clean and nice , the breakfast is good and everything you need . Loved how it looked and plenty of sunbeds . A quiet area but you can easily walk in 20 min to centre of Lagos . 5 min with taxi back Great morning walks nearby . Ponta de piadade 1,5 km away . Free parking just outside . Praia de mos 10 min walk away but you have to be there early to get sunbeds. Do you have a car I would recommend Meia Praia. Large and not crowded .

Overall, the Solar de Mos Hotel delivered good value. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well-appointed. Beds were especially comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet with an excellent and copious selection. There were, however, several things that could be improved. Most critical, was one of safety. The hotel was locked up late at night into the early morning. When we wanted to go watch the sunset, we discovered all the doors were locked. Although there was signage on the outside, explaining how to call a night-watchman, that sign was absent (or hard to find) on the inside. If there had been a fire, we'd have been in serious trouble -- and as it was, this caused us to miss the sunrise. We were also surprised and bothered by the fact that only one 'free' key per room was provided. Other keys required a deposit. Considering that the keys were plastic entry cards, which are (or should be) reprogrammed for each client, a deposit-fee is unreasonable -- and we've never previously encountered it in any of the numerous hotels we've stayed in. Another annoyance was the ice-policy. We needed ice at various times, both to cool food and to treat a muscle injury. In both cases, the ice was doled out in very small amounts. A hotel should make ice easily available for customers. The hotel had a nice outdoor pool area, but it was somewhat uninviting because shade-umbrellas weren't up by default (you could find someone to provide an umbrella, but it would be more hospitable to simply place them in advance). Also, there were lots of ants on the patio. Maybe that was unavoidable?? Again, not something we've seen elsewhere. Some of these issues are minor, but they are easily remedied and would result in a much more hospitable experience -- turning this place from a "4-star" to "5-star" hotel (in our opinions).

Overall, my stay at Solar de Mós was very good. I did not give it a 5 star as there was no restaurant on site even though the description said so. The hotel orders dinner from a local restaurant and you place your reservation by midday, the day before I think.

Also, the local beach is quite a walk, certainly more than 15 minutes. My mom and I used Uber to get to the beach and go into old town.

I would describe the suite as a mixture of traditional with some elements of contemporary. Overall, a small suite with old world charm. The balcony is nice. The bed and pillows were amazing for a side sleeper!

Also, it was quaint that they had an iron but no ironing board! My mom and I had to use the bed as an ironing board.

Furthermore the staff were all friendly. The breakfast was slightly above average in quality. Plenty options to choose from.

Overall, I recommend this hotel if you do not mind there is no on-site restaurant and it is in a residential area and may be a 25 minute walk from Old Town. I did visit one of the local restaurants and it was quite good although service was slow.

Lovely hotel. €5 taxi to lagos Town. Rooms were perfect, clean and comfortable. Staff were wonderful, always pleasant and smiling. And George was so funny and helpful gave us great recommendations for nearby restaurants. Will definitely be back

Only 1 mile to the beach. Nice clean and comfortable. Great and helpful staff not to mention the breakfast. Will be back.

A lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful team of staff. Can’t recommend their names but everyone was attentive to our needs and requests.
The rooms are in three or four, detached houses located next to each other, giving it a cosy, private resort-like place. There s small pools with lounges which is perfect for those who want to laze around.

Location is away from the centre, but it works if you like it this way. Bolt rides are cheap, so this wasn’t a problem to go and return from the centre.
