The photos on maps don’t really reflect the reality of the state of the hostel, they are only showing a few good rooms.
5 minutes in it was clear that we aren’t staying there under any circumstances. When I entered my shared room there was a drunk elderly man on the floor who screamed at me when I turned on the light, booze rolling around him and stuff, there were more drunk men in the common area in front, definitely unsafe for women.
The toilets/bathroom and kitchen were not just dirty but filthy and unhygienic.
Yes its cheap bit it not worth all the risks that are hidden.

This 1 star is for the person at reception who has.no manner to talk. At 2 pm the check in time i waited for the check in but the person at reception said the room was not clean and was unsure on when the room will be ready. Thanks to cleaning staff to whom i requested and she made it ready in 15 min.
He was rude
Hahahah.. just got the reply from owner,
Sir fyi i stayed on 29tth november 25 for 1 day only. I dont know what nonsense you are talking about.
All your responses are either fake like you or for some other guest. You guys are not trustworthy. Fyi I was in Romania only for 1 night and booked from Ixigo.

Very clean. Nice kitchen with plenty of food. The room was a bit too hot but still quiet.

Maybe the worst hostel in all Europe. Don’t come here. The booking is paid online, when I arrived they tell me there are no beds left even though I see in my app 5 beds left. Made me start my trip in the worst way. I already was very tired when I arrived paid bus and metro to arrive from bus station and they moved the original place so you need to sort of find it. They don’t answer WhatsApp and they constantly hear religious music in spanish all the time. They say they will give me a refund but I’m still waiting and I don’t have high hopes in it. My whole trip to Bucharest started very bad because I booked this place. So best advice, just avoid it.

I had a shared room of 4, the floor wasn’t clean the curtains were disgusting and they have small lockers so if you come with a big backpack or suitcase you can’t leave it. I heard that you can be robbed, so be careful. For three rooms up to 18 people you have two bathrooms and the kitchen. The bathroom were not that bad but there were mold and the breakfast is not bad. You have yogurt cereal cheese tomato cucumber and bread. Coffee and tea. To stay for a short period is perfect for the price and the location.
IMPORTANT! The entrance is wrong. There is a gate at the left where is a hospital you need to cross to the other side and then the reception will be there. Sometimes is closed so you need to go around to the other street.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hostel. I booked two beds in a 4-bed shared room, but upon arrival, my partner and I were placed in a room with more people instead. To make things worse, the beds assigned to us were already occupied, leaving us without the accommodations we had reserved and paid for. When we complained to the host, they told us that the room we had booked was under maintenance and that they had decided to move us without even informing or asking us. Frustrated and unhappy with the situation, we decided to leave the hostel, but the host refused to give us a refund, despite the fact that they failed to provide what we had booked. The lack of organization and disregard for guests' reservations was unacceptable. If you’re looking for a reliable and well-managed place to stay, I strongly advise against booking this hostel.

Things that you should know before booking this hostel: - if you book First Hostel chances are that you will be transferred to First Hostel Bucur 21 without your knowledge. It is downgrade in terms of hygiene, rooms and common areas. - hostel is recruiting center for religious cult (Jehovah's witnesses). You will be harassed and pestered by their "soldiers" so be aware and stay safe. - check in system is very unsafe. Anyone who knows hack how to enter the gate can enter the facilities because entrance door is wide open all day long and reception is empty because both hostels have the same receptionist who is working very few hours (14:00-20:00). Bottom line is, hostel is cheap and the overall experience for the guests is cheap. Stay safe, don't ruin your holiday because some people have ************* poor work ethics.

Unsafe and dirty hostel! Adrian who is owner or administrator insults people who leave bad reviews. Read all reviews and you will see this is repetitive behaviour. PS I'm curious to see what kind of sarcastic reply he will leave under this review :)

Me and my friend booked this place and it’s a good option for a cheap hostel with relative proximity to Bucharest city centre. However when my friend left his review on *********** (which of course is his opinion) he was messaged on his personal phone number by Adrian the owner who decided to call me and my friend ‘Karen’s’ for wanting to stay in the same room. Amongst other quite rude comments made to my friend! On the 11th July roughly 10 days prior to arriving I contacted this hostel on *********** asking if we could be co-located. In the message he sent my friend he denies ever receiving a message. He also said that we arrived during the evening time when everyone else had already checked in, I checked my call log to see what time I had to ring the hostel to get into the building which clocked in at 11:22, not evening time at all. The man who appeared to be working the front desk was rude on both the phone and in person. When I called him the first time he told me he had sent me a code and room number. He hasn’t, I then called again and was rudely told that I had received them when I clearly hadn’t. In fact, I actually didn’t receive my message until the 26th, 3 days after my stay was supposed to finish! Me and my friend decided against staying here and checked into a nearby hotel for a reasonable cost. I’m sure this hostel offers plenty and most may have an issue free stay but I wouldn’t personally recommend staying here and look forward to seeing what sarcastic reply I receive from Adrian the owner. I will leave a few positives I noticed while there as it would be unfair to list only negatives. - Air conditioning was working. - Low cost. - Not far from city centre at all.

+Modern decor +Cheap +Short walk to the metro +Friendly staff -Not cleaned regularly. Hairs and dirt in the showers and in the rooms. -Building needs general maintenance completed, broken showers etc. -The hostel feels unsafe. There seems to be lots of long term guest rather than travellers, not very social. -Although friendly the staff aren’t present.

Cool location with friendly staff. The single malt variety is a big plus and the food is delicious.

Excellent. Clean, nicely furnished, close to center with a lovely yard to sit in. Enjoyed the restaurant and wine tasting.

Great place right in the middle of Bucharest, but away from the crowded area. Very good food, the owner is always there for you to help with some suggestions for food and especially wine. Definitely a must try in Bucharest. Best pub by far, with a huge selection of wines from all around the world.
