The first morning I woke up to a strong smell of urine in the room, but it was fine on the second day. Breakfast was normal on the first day, but on the second day (the 9:30 slot), there was a huge queue. The local guests were really over the top; people were even queuing for fruit, and green bananas were being snatched up – it was quite a sight to behold! But it's still much better than staying at Lotte Tower. At least the front desk service was excellent, and the staff were proactive when I left the hotel. Plus, the surrounding area is great for walking around and exploring, a vast improvement over Lotte.

The location, the room, the food and most of all, the service were incredible. The shopping mall is conveniently nearby. I traveled with two seniors, and the concierge and reception staff took great care of our luggage. Although I can’t remember all the names of the staff who assisted us, I would like to especially thank Liam Joo for his kind help during our checkout. I stayed at this hotel for gd concert held at KSPO Dome, and Sofitel would definitely be my first choice if I have to attend another one in the future.

I've been to Korea more than 10 times and stayed at all the 5-star hotels in Gangnam. The prices for both peak and off-peak seasons are truly outrageous. However, even though this Sofitel is a bit further from Gangnam, the rooms and service are impeccable, and it's also convenient for shopping.

Located in Lotte Jamsil, it's a 5-minute walk to the shopping mall and duty-free shop, and 15 minutes to Lotte World. The room offers panoramic views of Seokchon Lake and is equipped with a state-of-the-art coffee machine, phone charging cables, and a complimentary welcome kit. The bedding is comfortable, there's a bathtub, and the toiletries are by Diptyque. The hotel's public areas are visually appealing, and the pool and gym facilities are modern.

My mini bar was not closed after housekeeping was done as I left before they came to tidy the room. And I raise as a concern. They were very fast to check and assured me that they make sure the minibar would be properly closed. And even offered me a choice of my - wine, cheese platter or fruits of my choice and to send to my room. I didn’t request for it as I was just genuinely raising a concern.
One of the team even remembered my last name and greeted me when I was heading out.
I had a wonderful stay.
It’s not in the popular area but it’s beside Lotte mall. And London Museum Bagel and Blue Bottle is in the mall. But it’s good because it’s not crowded, peaceful.
