I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay at the Grand Hyatt. It was the perfect place for a relaxing yet invigorating reset before a two-week trip around Korea. The hotel is well situated for those who do not mind a bit of effort: Namsan Park is nearby if you are in the mood for a refreshing but fairly challenging hike, and Itaewon and Hannam are close enough for culture, dining, and a livelier atmosphere...
The location is a bit out of the way, about 4 kilometers from Myeongdong and Bukchon Hanok Village. It's close to Namsan Park, but the main issue is that there are no shops or restaurants nearby, making it quite isolated.
Grand Hyatt Seoul: Classic Luxury with Breathtaking Views
A classic luxury hotel offering spectacular city views and extensive facilities, but with some considerations regarding its location and age.
🏨 Location & Ambiance
Situated atop Namsan Mountain, the hotel provides stunning panoramic views of Seoul. While offering a peaceful, retreat-like atmosphere, it’s on a hillside, which means walking to...
The Grand Hyatt, being an established brand, definitely delivers on quality and service. All the staff speak excellent English, so communication was a breeze, and their service attitude was wonderful. The only drawback is the small room size, which seems to be a common issue in Seoul. Also, there were too many people taking photos in the lobby, making it quite noisy. On the plus side, room service...
Understanding there is undergoing renovation for the breakfast venue but it’s ridiculous to wait for 30 mins for breakfast. The hotel can choose not to take so many bookings under the circumstances or to let the guests
Choose to have breakfast in room.
The environment is great, and the hotel service is good, but the toilet isn't up to par.

Facilities: All quite new, very good.
Cleanliness: Very clean.
Environment: The hallway had a slight renovation smell. The location is excellent, right next to COEX.
Service: The staff's English was very good, but they didn't surprise us. We had noted it was our anniversary. Hope for more thoughtful service next time.
The location is convenient, and the concierge service upon exiting the hotel was decent. However, there was hardly any other service; they even started charging for toothbrushes. For a hotel costing over 2,000 a night, you'd think they wouldn't nickel and dime guests over something so small.
Overall clean hotel located right next to the Starfield Coex Mall which makes it super convenient. It's in the Gangnam area so take note of the time it takes and traffic to get across the Hangang to access other more local neighbourhoods like Seongsu and Hannam.
Location : Excellent
Very convenient
Near department store COEX
Great stay - the experience felt super luxurious and the service from staff was wonderful.
The hotel design is beautiful, easy access to coex starfield mall & direct access to the subway. We went during Christmas time so it felt extra festive!
I ended up switching rooms 5 times. Every single room had the air purifier light on full red, indicating severe air quality issues. The smell of fresh paint and renovation was overwhelmingly strong. Seriously, cherish your life and stay away from formaldehyde-ridden rooms.

The hotel is located right above a bustling commercial area with COEX and Hyundai Department Store, plus there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Every staff member I encountered was very friendly, and we were able to add an extra bed for a fee, which was great for our family so we didn't feel too cramped.
The hotel's location is super convenient. The airport shuttle stops right outside, and the basement has tons of restaurants and cafes. Shopping is a breeze too, with specialty stores and direct access to Hyundai Department Store, plus a subway station and the city terminal. The room size is average, and there was a bit of a renovation smell. The bed was pretty comfortable, but early in the morning...
Excellent location! Right below COEX and the subway station. The only downside is that most dining options in Gangnam are inside malls, with very few standalone restaurants on the streets.
Typical 5-star hotel setup. Some rooms were a bit small, but after requesting a change, the new room was much better and the temperature was very comfortable. I also received Olive vouchers, which was a nice bonus.
The hotel room is clean and the price is reasonable. The staff are nice. There are shopping malls and restaurants nearby, which is convenient. I would definitely recommend it to others.
The service was great, and the subway entrance is right downstairs, which makes getting around super convenient. The only downside is that the room felt a bit small, even smaller than what was stated.

The room was a bit small, but clean enough. My kid really liked it. The location is super convenient, right downstairs from Lotte World amusement park.
Hotel is really nice. Staff are so friendly and helpful. All of them can speak English. The downside is the food. Very limited for us. Perhaps is the location. Will choose Myeongdong Lotte hotel next visit. The highlights of the room are very big room and mini washer + dryer. Hotel provided laundry sheet. So nice. Room can put 3 luggages opened and still have plenty of space to walk around.
Clean and tidy, with good service attitude.
Overall, a great experience! I didn't see any toothbrushes (I heard many places don't provide them, so I had already packed my own). We couldn't check into our room until 3 PM after checking in, so we left our luggage and went shopping. When we returned, our bags were already in our room, which was a nice touch! Because of the language barrier and the fact that the bus I wanted to catch was about to...
Im happy, lotte will always my fave’s hotel in Korea. Very nice place
I chose Lotte World this time because I've been to Seoul many times and wanted to explore Jamsil. It's very close to the Olympic Stadium, and you see a lot of people running around here. Lotte Department Store is great for shopping, with basically all the brands you could want. The only downside is that it's a bit far from areas like Seongsu, Hannam, and Dongdaemun. Overall it's a good hotel to relax in, and being located in the hills gives it a different feel. However, if I had to pick a downside, it would be that it's bit crowded. Aside from that, the prices are reasonable and the satisfaction level is high.
Can’t expect anything lesser of a 5 star hotel but strangely, the bathroom, which houses both the bathtub and toilrt bowl, is rather cramped and is lacking a dry clothings hanging area
My reservation was for a MOUNTAIN VIEW but lo and behold the view is more of a rooftop / compressor view
Overall it is a very good hotel
I had very experience and hotel is very clean.
Quiet comfy vibes in a secluded location in seoul, loved the outdoor jacuzi area
The hotel located quite remotely so not very convenient if you come to Korea for shopping and travelling around.
The Grand Walkerhill Hotel was so amazing! At the level and caliber of the hotel, it was a simple and grand hotel. Room itself was clean and loved the counter space where I sat to work and drink my coffee. Pressure of the shower was amazing!

The Shilla Seoul is truly a comfortable hotel. From its overall style to its architecture, everything is incredibly refined. It has a very 'old money' vibe but still feels incredibly welcoming and personable. This will definitely be my go-to hotel for my next visit to Seoul.
Extremely satisfied with this hotel! Everything was great, especially the breakfast!
Hygiene: Stayed for three nights, and the cleaning was excellent every day.
Environment: The environment is quite good, though the hillside location makes transportation a bit inconvenient. Luckily, the hotel provides a shuttle bus to and from the subway station, which makes up for this issue.
Service: The service was good. The hotel staff were all very welcoming and made us feel right at home.
The room was very clean and the environment was decent. It was a bit cold at night this time of year. They don't provide toothbrushes or razors; you have to pay for them, which would have been good to know when booking. This is my second stay, and everything else was pretty good.
The Shilla Hotel exudes a calm and understated elegance, with a discreet sense of order and sophistication that hints at its prestigious background. The service is unobtrusive yet exceptionally attentive, and every space and detail reflects a rich history and quiet confidence. It makes for a very reassuring and substantial stay.
This is my second stay at The Shilla, and once again, I had a fantastic experience. I'll definitely choose The Shilla again next time I visit Seoul!

Been staying at this hotel whenever travelling to Seoul. Their level of standard in terms of hospitality and cleaniness has been impeccable. The location is superb being next to Myeongdong, Subway, and connecting to Lotte Department Store with supermarket/food court.
This truly lives up to its five-star rating. The location is absolutely fantastic, right in Seoul's Myeongdong area. It's literally right outside Exit 8 of Euljiro 1-ga Station on Subway Line 2. Myeongdong shopping is just a 5-minute walk away, and the hotel is integrated with Lotte Duty Free, making it incredibly convenient for shopping. I requested a quiet room when I booked in advance, and they...
Very convenient,perfect location no complain
This hotel is super convenient, right next to the duty-free shop. The room was really spacious and much better and cleaner than any other hotel I've stayed at in Korea. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit. The staff were great, and it was easy to get a taxi. Plus, you can enjoy a drink downstairs in the evening.
Service was ok, room is clean, assistance also good
The location is super convenient, right by Lotte. You can access the mall directly from the basement, and if you walk across the street, there are plenty of food options and drugstores. It feels like an older, well-established hotel with a certain level of class, but it is showing its age. The hairdryer isn't very powerful and could definitely use an upgrade. Nice location but old facilities otherwise all is wonderful
Location: The location is very convenient. From the lobby on the first floor, you can access the subway station directly. From the basement, there's another subway entrance and a Starbucks across the street. You can walk through a passage straight to Myeongdong Shopping Street.
Cleanliness: Although it's a bit old, it's kept very clean.

The family room was great, and they even upgraded our bed to a King-size for free when we checked in. The hotel's service was also excellent. Great location, just a crosswalk away from Myeongdong. The service was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. Although the facilities are a bit dated, they are well-maintained. Conveniently located next to Yeouido Park with excellent transport links. There's a large shopping mall downstairs and direct access to the subway station.
Facilities: Very complete, the floor heating was super comfortable.
Hygiene: Very clean, though they weren't prompt in replenishing tissues during our multi-day stay.
Environment: High-end, stylish, and impressive.
Service: Extremely thoughtful, they helped with luggage and even contacted us when we left something behind.
The room facilities are very new, clean, and the view is excellent. The front desk, restaurant, concierge, and service staff were all very enthusiastic, providing a top-notch experience. The type of room we had reserved is the apartment type that consist of 3 bedrooms and 1 living room. The size is big but there is no daily service to clean the room. The apartment is located in the front area of the hotel, separating from the hotel. The CU shop (24hrs) was easily to walk in 5 min. The location is far from the subway so using taxi is more convenient.
Clean and tidy
Staff are polite and helpful
The location is a bit far
The hotel is located halfway up a hill, so it's very quiet. It's quite large with an excellent environment, clearly a high-class establishment. The rooms are spacious and bright, and the service is very attentive.
The room was great. Late check in around 11 something pm then check out 11am.
I personally feel that Western hotel brands in Korea are always a great choice. The staff here can all communicate in English, and everything about this hotel is excellent, except for its location – it feels like it's halfway up a mountain. When you want to take public transport, you have to climb a long and steep hill. The first day, when we got off the airport bus, we were genuinely shocked. My mom...

The environment is great and there's a strong Christmas atmosphere.
Extremely overpriced hotel, seriously expensive! The view is great though! I'd still recommend it.
Location is really best. Top tier shopping and food street are just around the corner, which are connected by stairs.
Great location, service and room were great. Only hiccup was not being able to get a room with one large bed instead of 2 beds. (requested but unavailable). They did make it up by giving us some wine and cheese in the toom. Good touch.

It's pretty good, has everything you need. Although it's an older hotel, it's very well-maintained. The hotel is clean and hygienic, and the breakfast is decent with a good variety of options. It's a great spot for a vacation.
The room size is quite spacious for a Korean hotel, and the service is excellent with good facilities. The surrounding area has a pedestrian street and brand-name stores, making it very convenient for dining and shopping. Transportation is also a breeze, with the subway and bus stations just a few hundred meters' walk away.
The employees were incredibly kind and approachable. The cleaning ladies were warm and friendly, and they did an excellent job maintaining the cleanliness of my room while my son was there. However, the bed was extremely uncomfortable for someone like me who was recovering from surgery. It was old and saggy, and you could feel the springs on your back. It desperately needed a new mattress.
Walking location nearby lots of food stores and shopping areas , I always choose to stay whenever I am in Seoul
Walking distance to Gangnam Street. Excellent location, highly recommend. Great location right by City Hall Exit 6 and Sogong Underground Shopping Link Exit 2 that leads to Myeongdong. Cheonggyecheon stream is just 600m away, perfect for a morning run. Staff were attentive and helpful. Gym was in another building on a high floor and very well equipped. Room was a bit small but comfortable enough.
Location is decent but traffic can be quite congested given that it is in city hall area. It’s walking distance to restaurants and tourist attraction. Pros: Close to Myeongdong, quiet, and dozens of restaurants within a five-minute walk.
Cons: Housekeeping is a joke (they only change the sheets and trash bags). The gym is in a building across the street, which is the most inconvenient part – you have to change clothes if you're already in your workout gear.

Overall, its good services are good. Two of us tried the Chinese Guangdong food restaurant. Honestly, not authentic and too much salt or MSG. Very thirsty whole night. The bill for 2 eaters is same as one night's room rate. For the quality of foods served it's not worth it.
Right in the city center, super convenient for shopping. The room was spacious and the breakfast was excellent.

The shower door leaked a bit (water pooled outside after showering), and since the room wasn't very big, this was a minor inconvenience.
Aside from that, everything else exceeded my expectations! The photos on the booking page actually do this hotel a disservice; the service and hotel environment are easily 5-star standard!!
Nice hotel close to Itaewon, although rooms are really small and not as well thought out as other 5 star hotels. Altitude lounge and pool were closed for the winter season and no air conditioning in the room (only heat) which meant we needed to sleep with windows open. Decent breakfast selection.
Very kind staff with most of them speaking english. Stayed there couple of times and the rooms are nice here. I once had a distinct bad smell in my room but staff were kind enough to quickly change it.
Gym is very nice and the pool is big.
The room itself isn't very big, but the location is great; it's convenient to get anywhere by taxi. The service was decent. There's a coffee shop right next to the lobby on the first floor, but the music there is quite loud. The air conditioning in the room was also a bit noisy. Overall, it's a good budget-friendly option.
Very beautiful hotel. Greeted by staffs who helped open the car door, and get your bags and luggage to the check in counter every day!
Only bummer was at check out timing is 11am, we tried asking for later check out timing during check-in and was told hotel is full. Managed to get a late check out of 12pm when we tried again the night before leaving the hotel.

The location is great, but the soundproofing is terrible. It feels like sleeping on the main road, and the hallway soundproofing is also bad. It's so noisy next door, it feels like their door is open.
Overall: For two to three thousand without breakfast on a weekday, the value for money is quite low.
Room:
Our floor was quite low, and there was a strong smell of renovation.
As soon as you enter the room, you're greeted by a stunning view of a small town's street – no need to even mention it.
Although soft drinks in the minibar are free, it's just a few cans of Coke, orange juice, and room-temperature...
1. The soundproofing is absolutely terrible! It felt like motorcycles were driving right over our heads, and we could hear every word spoken in the hallway so clearly that we thought people were in our room.
2. The lobby was as chaotic as a marketplace. There's a restaurant, or maybe it's for afternoon tea, but it was noisy and messy all day, staying loud until past 10 PM – it was deafening.
3. Apart...
The location is excellent, right above the subway station. There are plenty of food options nearby, and the surrounding neighborhood is lovely – I even saw cherry blossoms! The room was a bit small, not comparable to a 5-star hotel in China, but I'd describe it as a small yet refined hotel.
