I had a very good stay at Cats Hostel. The neighbourhood is very cute, and only 30 mins walk from the centre (it’s a nice walk along the sea). The hostel is pretty clean, but cherry on top is the personnel. I had a small health issue and Cris (the night receptionist) was extremely helpful, kind and supportive. A real angel!

Arrived to Reggaeton blasting in reception. I hoped this wasn't going to be a common occurrence. The room was small. 6 beds? Where will all the luggage go? Not to mention the back window was scalding hot from the sun. I didn't want my luggage there. How will the room cool down with 6 people? The locker gave me problems the whole stay.

The first night was quiet, and the a/c was strong! The next 2 nights we turned the a/c temp warmer and it was unpleasant.

I did get locked out of the room by the stupid digital code.

There was no sign on the door or in the hallway for the kitchen location. That should change. The lounge outside the kitchen should have furniture. It's a vast, shady space.

The washing machine only cost 4 Euro, but it did shrink my hat.

Met really nice people from Netherlands and Scotland here.

DO NOT STAY HERE!

My friend and I had an extremely disappointing experience during our stay. Upon arrival the whole room completely was not up to hygiene stands that they so clearly happen to advertise as one of their key values.

What was even more frustrating was the lack of assistance from the staff. When we raised our concerns, there was very little effort made to address the issues or offer any meaningful solution. The customer service was dismissive and unhelpful, leaving us feeling completely unsupported which ultimately led us to find alternative accommodation in the middle of the night.

I have stayed in many, many hostels around the world and I’d have to say that unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences ive have had, and I would not recommend staying here to anyone.

My friend and I had the worst hostel experience here, DO NOT STAY HERE if you’re wanting any kind of cleanliness in your room. Staff were unsupportive and refused to listen to our concerns regarding hygiene of the room, I urge you to spend your money elsewhere if looking for accomodation in San Sebastian!

Loved this hostel! Lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and clean. They are very small rooms and the hostel is a walk up a hill but besides that, this place was perfect!

Basic good facilities for a hostel. Solo traveller to see a Springsteen show in San Sebastián. Hostel was a little out of the way but there is a good bus service. Staff are friendly and the breakfasts were lovely with a choice.

This is a hostel mainly for young proper as hostels usually are for. People coming in to the dormitory in the night talking and laughing loud. I was in a dormitory of 6 beds only for women. It was very small and the floor was crowded with big luggages even if there was a smaller box ( you need a locker) for your things.The bed was without curtain or anything like. The bathroom area was also very small. I have been to hostels more convenient than this one. And the price for one night was around 100 Euro!

Family of 4. Stayed 1 night in a family room with private bathroom and it was perfect, even better than we thought. Very well located 10 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to bus station to go to the city center. Would definitely recommend.

It's about a 35-minute walk from the station and the city center, and it's also on a slope, so it can be a little inconvenient for those who want to stay in the city center. However, you can walk to the hostel along the coast, so it was fun to walk there.
There was a hair dryer in the shower room, so it was a very comfortable hostel. Please note that check-in is online and there is no reception at the hostel.

Great little restaurant that stays open quite late! Really nice when you've traveled all day and are very tired, good sandwiches!!

I'm here now taking a break from the hot beach sunshine. A few locals enjoying a beer and so am I, along with a nice simple sandwich. What more can you ask for on a lazy summer holiday afternoon?
