Landa in Burgos

This hotel founded by a very special couple over 60 years ago used to be an outstanding property where service and attention to little details was second to none. I spent my youth getting to appreciate what the founders, Jesus and Carmela did to make this property an icon of the hospitality business in Spain. I returned back many years after, to find the opposite of what this hotel used to be. Attitude of the staff at the bar was pretty bad, no greeting, not a smile not the slightest effort to make you feel welcomed. Lazy approach to work, not even willing to set up a table at the patio that would have taken them no time .

The worst part was when we approached the reception staff to see if I could show my partner the indoor pool., a place that to me was magical. We were treated like intruders.

This hotel has got a big problem when they sell the idea of tradition and the front desk staff don’t even know who the founders were. When I mentioned my relationship with them, they didn’t even know who I was talking about.

Very frustrating and disappointing experience… The good old days of the Landa Palace are gone.

Honestly, this hotel is a scandal from start to finish.
Every time you order anything, boom – €7 tacked on as a room service fee. “Pet-friendly”? What a joke: €70 per night for a dog that’s not allowed anywhere except locked in your room, on a leash at all times. In other words, your pet is basically a prisoner while you “enjoy” your stay… or rather, endure it.

The pool? Filthy. Never cleaned. Beer cans and bottles scattered around all night and still there the next morning. No one comes by, no one cleans. Two days in a row like this — you start to wonder if anyone actually works here.

And to top it all off, the hotel is literally glued to a highway exit. We were told “you’ve arrived” while still on the ramp. Constant noise, depressing view, and the atmosphere of a gas station.

Shameful. Avoid at all costs — even if it were free.

Doesn't live up to the hipe , beautiful building and pool looked impressive. We were emailed the day before we arrived to say the pool would close at 1930 but when we arrived at 1600 we were told it was closed for maintenance.. The meal in the restaurant was the worst I have ever had in Spain ,don't eat in there awful. The staff and management leave a lot to be desired ,Spains answer to Faulty Towers.

Badly managed, unhappy staff and poor service. Food inedible, frozen produce and staff are embarrassed and apologetic for serving such bad food. Rooms old & need renovation, no air conditioning, linen cheap and rough. Traffic noise & generally very unhappy place.
