Hotel Microtel Placentinos in Salamanca

Lovely hotel. A warm welcome and very hospitable throughout my stay. Very clean, nicely decorated rooms and communal areas. I stayed in the loft room. Being 6foot was not a problem. Whilst the breakfast had a small set up I had everything I could want. For what you pay, in this location I couldn’t ask for more.

We had one of the rooms on the top floor which had a sloping ceiling (which we were made aware of upon booking). The room was comfortable enough with what we needed. We opted not to go for breakfast as felt there would be better value options locally given the central location of the hotel. It was a comfortable enough stay and reception staff were helpful with getting us local bus information (when Google was letting us down).

Great place to stay in Salamanca. Customer service is wonderful. Great location for local restaurants and plaza mayor.

We Stayed for one night and the room was a beautiful pairing of modren and old design and had a sky light. The service at the desk was very welcoming and spoke english. The elevator is made of beautiful glass including in the lobby. A must see and stay. We will deffinately return if in Salamanca!

It’s a simple hotel with a simple breakfast but worth the stay because it is centrally located (about 7 min walk to Cathedral) and for those with a mobility impairment, it does have an elevator. Both Reception and Cleaning staff are excellent, I would recommend and stay again.

I had a great couple of nights at this hotel. It is a great bargain in Salamanca. It is is located within 5-10 minutes of most of the main sights. Service is excellent for the level of hotel it is. It is located about a 20-25 min walk from the train station. Internet access was solid and and reasonably speedy. Breakfast is what one would expect at this price level. Basically a continental breakfast with Spanish options. My room had a refrigerator which was useful. No kettle or coffee maker though. I had the attic room with a sloping ceiling which they warn you about when making a reservation. This description and warning they give you is correct. I am 5'10" and had no issues though I had to bend over when shaving in the bathroom to see myself in mirror. If you are much taller than 5'10" you may not want to take this room. I really enjoyed Salamanca and my stay at the Microtel.

Nice little hotel, perfect location. Beautiful interior. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Breakfast - ok. We stayed in the simplest room - it's the one with the slanted ceiling, and there's really not enough height haha, but ok for one-two nights when you don't plan to spend much time in the room.
The only downside - the fridge was too loud, maybe get a new silent one.

A very good location for walking to the old city. The staff were friendly, but did not speak much English. Our room 23 was comfortable and quiet, but had a sloped ceiling, so we had to bend to not hit our heads. The breakfast had good choices. This small hotel does have an elevator.

When you look up MIcrotel Placentinos you might imagine that with that name and that price that you are taking a risk. You would be wrong. I was surprised to find it listed in Lonely Planet & Fodors with a star rating. Its on a quiet side street in the beautiful city of Salamanca and its worth its stars. My comfortable quiet room cost me only 70 euros - an absolute bargain! I loved the old brick walls & timbers of my room with enough room for me and my large bags. There was a spa tub in my room though I didn't get to use it because I showered late and didn't want to disturb anyone. The location was an easy walk to everything to see and do and eat. Great little hotel.
