I am about to complete an extended stay at the Cloud 9 Hotel in Negombo Sri Lanka. . Às a regular visitor to the establishment in the past few years I have always been impressed with the professionalism of the staff led by Rithik the current manager . Located outside the city in a quiet suburb within walking distance of the beach & many local restaurants . I have stayed at Cloud 9 on many occasions and always appreciated the laid back nature nature of the place. The rooms are comfortable with superb soft beds which ensure a good nights sleep. The hotel is a basic establishment with a swimming pool on site. Breakfast is served in the rooftop dining area & is a multi choice affair serving either Continental or Sri Lankan .Well presented & served by the two ladies Amilla & Asanka. Thanks and appreciation to all the staff in including the ladies responsible for cleaning & preparing the rooms namely Maria & Shiromi. I would also like to thank Anura ,who mans the reception at night, for his help & assistance during my stay . I highly recommend this hotel

Wonderful hotel with wonderful people The beds are comfy and rooms are clean The swimming pool is perfect just a little oasis in the middle of Negombo. They have a transfer service to the airport thats really usefull and punctual in less than 30 minutes you can be in the airport!

Over-rated. More like 5 out of 10. Very weak Wi-Fi. Lots of noise at night from guests coming back to their rooms and opening doors. Energy saving bulbs make the rooms feel gloomy & claustrophobic. The rooms have kettles with teabags and Nescafé sachets but no dairy creamer. Breakfast very limited and not really worth bothering with. Location is boxed in down an alley and nowhere near the shops and restaurants along the beach front. On the plus front the room was clean and had good AC. Giant TV with a wide range of Dialog TV channels. The eating area is upstairs on a roof terrace but with no views. Staff all seem to be men in their early 20s without much experience. Wouldn’t recommend staying here. Sent from my iPad

Great place to stay near Columbo Airport. Nice pool. Rooms large and comfortable with good air conditioning. Free breakfast was delicious and served by a very pleasant staff. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

We had higher expectations based on the beautiful photos on TripAdvisor and ***********. Instead, we found a musty room where the wooden furnishings clearly couldn't cope with the humidity. The air conditioning made it somewhat bearable. The bathroom would have been nice if it weren't for the mold on the tiles and the stains on the toilet seat that wouldn't come off. Thick cobwebs hung from the door frame, indicating superficial cleaning. On the positive side, the breakfast and the pool were excellent. The porter (a young computer science student) was also very friendly. We had booked a room with free airport transfer, which worked perfectly in a really nice car. This was our last hotel on our tour, as the airport is quicker to reach from here than from Colombo.

We stayed at that hotel for 2 nights, and was pretty good. The air conditioner is working very well, is close to the town and beach. Breakfast was okey, not in European standards. As a advice is not to book a driver from the hotel, because they are charging a lot. Is better to look for an Uber or Pickme

We stayed there for a total of three nights (arrival and departure) and the bedding was incredibly comfortable. The rooms are spacious and pleasant (especially those overlooking the pool). Everything was spotless. Breakfast served on the rooftop terrace was also very good. The location is also ideal, set back from the city center but not too far on foot (10 minutes). The pool is lovely and the neighborhood is quiet. There's a free airport shuttle.

Hotel was overall fine, not as good as the pictures. Rooms were fine. The drain in the bathroom smelled bad. The young guys working in the reception were really noisy, they had really loud techno music playing all day, and were just loud in generel. This was really annoying when relaxing by the pool. Otherwise nice staff. Breakfast was ok. Internet was poor.

Nice place, Facilities were great. Customer service was not up to standard from the reception. minor staff was good but need to develop more attention and should greet guests more respectful way. It is not good to ask customers to settle the total bill in advance before even check in the room.🙁

Its a beautiful small hotel but not clean and well maintained.pool area also not clean. There was many mosquitoes around the pool area and in the lobby area. We ordered lunch but not worth its price and they had Fried rice with 2 curries and no desserts as well.I hope they maintain the standard of this hotel next year.
