We had dinner here and the service and the food was amazing! Our server Koshitha was excellent, making sure we had everything we needed and happily supplied more papadums when we asked. The vegetable rice and curries were amazing and the view of the lake was lovely.

We came for some dinner and had some lovely Asian style food. Our waiter Koshitha was amazing! We had a great time and will definitely be back.

Had a great stay at Viyana, from our room you could oversee the lake. Vibrant city just a short walk away (10-15 minutes). Would recommend for a stay in Kandy.

Let's start with the positives: good location right by the lake and in walking distance to the tooth temple.
But this hotel is worn down and the facilities and service can by no means justify the pricing.
There's no breakfast included (but possible to pay extra).
Worst experience was their laundry service which was expensive (3800 LKR for one bag) and also some of my clothes got lost, which was purely denied several times and did not result in any form of compensation.
Would not recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely hotel. The location is prime at the lake shore and just a short walk to the temple of the tooth relict and the city center. Nice and fairly priced breakfast. What really puts the hotel above other places is the wonderful, forthcoming and very attentive staff starting with the manager! Whenever we entered the premises we were warmly greeted by sweet people that asked how our day was or wished as a good night. We received fresh bottles of water multiple times, various suggestions and insights for things to do in Kandy but also surrounding areas and enjoyed a wonderful conversation with the manager while sipping a cup of tea one evening. Would highly recommend staying here and will certainly come back if we are returning to Kandy ☺️

Excellent stay… near Kandy lake. People very prompt in response. The rooms are very clean and tidy. Certainly I recommend to stay in this hotel

On arrival I was given a room with no window or balcony as booked. As I went to reception I was told there had no rooms with a balcony available until the following day. I was again told the next day they had no rooms available with a balcony so I told them I’ve packed my bags and I would be out for the day for them to sort it out. On 2nd room given as soon as I walked in the room had a strong mouldy and musky smell. The bathroom was tiny and the curtains didn’t even fit the window properly. The balcony was ok with two chairs however there was building work going on nearby. The AC didn’t work properly so the room was so stuffy. There was mould under the window which is the reason the room smelt bad.
On the positive note the food and staff in the restaurant was good.
I personally wouldn’t stay here again.

We stayed 2 nights here. It is in a great location but not fully up the standard expected of a “3 star boutique” hotel. Close to the lake and all the museums the staff were friendly, but unfortunately the rooms are in need of work. So in general the place was clean however the sheets were a little dirty (black marks), the pillows were also stained and the walls needed painting after being filled in. I think this place would benefit from some general maintenance. However it was on a good spot and was fine for a couple of nights.
