This hotel is a real gem. The staff are so so lovely and helpful. The hotel is so colourful. The outside space is full of plants and the pool is lovely. Really good location as well next to really lovely restaurants. They even have a tortoise!

Beautifully maintained, quiet, comfortable small hotel in a great location. Everyone was very warm and welcoming. Our bed was huge. The shower drain could do with a clean and the bedside lights did not work but those were the only minor things. Breakfast was huge, fresh and delicious. The pool area is delightful. Enjoy

What a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived and met by the overnight staff we were made to feel welcome. We went there to relax and chill and that is exactly what we got. The staff made us feel like a member of the family and all our needs were met without question or hesitation. The room was clean and well-appointed with all the needs of a hotel room, the bathroom was large, and the shower was powerful and always hot. The breakfast was extensive; the fruit plate was large and fresh then came the cooked portion which can be as small or large as you required plus the basket of toast. We were there for Christmas and spent Christmas dinner with the other guests plus all the staff and the owner, this made our holiday as it just felt like a family Christmas time. I cannot give this place enough praise. Danith and his team are great representatives for how well this place is run and very welcoming to all. We will be back.

The new manager and his staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble . Very helpful in organising transport for us on delay. Everything was spotlessly clean and the breakfasts were healthy and plentiful. The pool was a great addition to our stay and for ‘cooling off’ in the heat. Very close to all the restaurants ( we would recommend Jude’s Sea food restaurant). (We wanted a child free hotel and this ticked the box)

The reason we had such a wonderful at Dickman’s Resort was because the incredibly friendly and attentive service from all staff members and the beauty of the hotel itself. All rooms and facilities are integrated into a traditional Sri Lankan building, yet they are designed in a very modern luxurious way. We have stayed in the Mango Suite already two times (April and October 2025) and we loved the spacious room with its comfortable bed, couch and basket sofa. The bathroom is also beautifully designed with a rain shower and a big elevated window so you have a lot of light in there and still having 100 % privacy. Also, the rest of the premises is highly taken care of, clean and colorful with many spots to sit/ lay down and to enjoy the sun or shadow. The staff at Dickman’s Resort contributed just as much to our pleasant stay as the room and the hotel itself. Very friendly, attentive and helpful. No matter if you needed assistance for your further trip in Sri Lanka, were up to a challenging pool match or had any special requests for a meal you ordered - they were there. We re already looking forward for our next stay at Dickman’s Resort and enjoying real quality time.

Big bed, beautifull pool and excellence service. The music in the room was a nice touch. Breakfast was very nice with good coffee. The beds at the pool are quit nice, including pillow and handtowels. In the evening you can use the pooltable and Endjoy a drink

Dickman’s was our favorite hotel during our entire two week visit to Sri Lanka. From the moment my two adult daughters and I arrived, we fell in love with the staff and the relaxed, chill vibe. Just a block from the beach, it is easy to go down for a swim and enjoy chatting with the many local families on the beach. There are also many good restaurants nearby, and the staff at Dickman’s can help you choose from among them. There are also pool area and grounds were just gorgeous. Brightly painted walls, lots of plants and art. A cool oasis on even the hottest days. We opted for the Sri Lankan breakfast, which was absolutely delicious with a gorgeous fruit plate, followed by string hoppers, dhal curry and much more. Since we couldn’t come close to eating it all, the staff nicely packed it up and we had it for lunch! All in all, the staff is what really makes and experience great. And this staff did exactly that. So kind. So helpful. And just plain fun to talk with.

Maybe it was the endless sunshine and the cool lion beer, but our experience at Dickman resort was truly wonderful. This resort is a hidden gem (but only a stones throw from the main town);and from the moment we stepped inside we were made to feel more like long lost friends rather than guests. The resort is small and perfectly formed with only 9 rooms it’s amazingly intimate but has all the amenities you need, restaurant (Cookie breakfast was delicious), bar, pool, loungers and chill out areas that include free roaming tortoises, a turtle sanctuary and fish. BUT what truly sets this resort apart from ANYWHERE we’ve stayed and made this into one of the best holidays ( and Birthdays); was fabulous Danu and his amazing team!! The care and genuine way in which they went about making sure we had the best time ever was amazing. Dickman Resort it seems like you’ve found the secret recipe to give your guests a perfect stay. It’s not a 5* corporate sprawling resort, it’s real, it’s genuine ans authentic and an experience like no other… THANK YOU and see you again very soon we hope Karen & Ade

Need a comforter or a good bed sheet in rooms. Their food is superb and quality. Also it worth for the price. Rooms should be more clean. There's a good view of the ocean. Would visit again.

Have to say the food was pretty dire. Had a chicken and a prawn dish for lunch that was akin to a ready to eat meal from your local grocery store. Can't really pick out a single thing to compliment, suggest to avoid!

We went back after our first dinner to get lunch and breakfast the days after. Dinner was really nice, I had the vegetarian kotu rotti and it was really good. For dessert, the fried banana is a recommendation. It was a little surprised for me that the sweet potato fries were really 'sweet' fries from normal potato with a sweet sauce. But it was good anyway. For breakfast I had the vegetable wrap and my brother had the avocado toast. Both dishes were a good start of our day.

After walking a bit in Negombo we chose this restaurant as it seemed nice from the outside and the menu looked good and not too expensive. We ordered at 21h30 and got the first dish at 22h50. We almost walked away at several points but we were hungry and the waiter kept saying it was almost there. When it finally came the food was alright nothing special and certainly not worth an horrible service and 1h20 of waiting without any complimentary appetizers or else. The service is truly awful, avoid at all cost. They also surprisingly increase the menu prices when you get the bill. Worst experience I had in a restaurant!

We were looking for a place to sit in the beach enjoy some food and drinks and watch the sunset.

This was perfect for that, they have a lovely sitting area on a platform on the beach which had a lovely ambiance to it.

The food was nice and quality good. We had some spicy crab and kottu roti which was made accordingly to the person. So we had a spicy version and a non spicy version. The prawns were nice too.
