Rohan is THE MAN! He gave us recommendations for food, helped us with parking, and was so hospitable. We would stay with him again!

The location is fine, not too far from both the tooth temple and the train station.
Rooms definitely need refreshing. There was moisture in the bathroom, dust in the room, and when I tried the AC (just for 5 minutes, since my husband was sick), it was leaking directly above the bed. Towels were very worn out and not perfectly clean. On top of that, there were sooo many mosquitoes and they’re not doing anything about that.
Everything seems to come with an extra charge: paying with a credit card is +3%, and a late check-out is +2000 rupees. To be fair, charging for late check-out can be reasonable, but it didn’t feel right since the receptionist, knowing the circumstances, told me the day before “we are all humans, we should help each other”, yet my husband being really sick and unable to leave the room from check-in until check-out, when we asked for a little flexibility, we were treated more like cash machines. That contrast felt really wrong. Some flexibility or understanding would have been appreciated.
Another detail that felt uncomfortable: I was asked 3 times for money currency from my country. I honestly didn’t have any (I still offered a magnet instead), but being asked repeatedly felt like unnecessary pressure.
Overall, our stay was disappointing and I would not recommend Villa 92.

Convenient to stay for one night because it's close to the train station. The room and bathroom are clean.
The windows are not isolated so you hear a lot of noise from the busy street in front of the hotel and the prayer call from a mosque at 4h30 in the night

Villa 92 is a stunning manor house which incorporates Moorish and Kandyan architecture. The Villa has a distinctive Kandyan roof and motifs Moorish arches displaying the architect’s effort to blend the two together

Perfect location, clean room and good shower for a cheap price.
The owner was very nice, we couldn't find tickets for the train to Ella and the morning after he got 4 tickets for us!

A decent hotel with a great price-quality ratio! There's hot water, air conditioning, and internet, all of which work perfectly without interruptions. The hotel is classified as a hostel. There's no kettle in the room. For tea-lovers, there's a sitting area downstairs with a kettle and other amenities. The location is okay, but we got a bit lost before finding the hotel. Cafes and shops are everywhere. All the sights are nearby. The atmosphere inside the building is pleasant; it's clean and cozy. It's fairly quiet. I recommend it for business trips and for relaxing between excursions.

Location is good, near to bus station and train station. The room and toilet is clean. The interior design is nice, renovated from an old building. Staff is helpful.

Not sure if we were just unlucky but there was a bad smell in our room. Otherwise the rooms were nice and the staff were friendly.
