We had a wonderful wedding ceremony and honeymoon stay at this hotel. The wedding hall and rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my visit. The hotel's dining is very good, with many choices for breakfast and dinner, and the taste is also good, suitable for Chinese stomachs.

One of the best hotel and food was amazing

Hotels in Sri Lanka generally have low value for money, and most of the well-known heritage hotels have outdated facilities. In comparison, Golden Crown is a relatively new hotel with fairly complete facilities. The location is good and the lobby decoration is very unique. It happened to be Valentine's Day when we checked in, and red balloons were placed on the bed, which was very warm.

This hotel is one of the best in the area, and they even offer breakfast and dinner, which we unfortunately didn't know about beforehand. The breakfast was plentiful, the mountain views were stunning, and it's not far from Kandy. Overall, a very comfortable stay.

Although the hotel facilities are a bit old, they are very clean, making for a comfortable stay. The view from the window is also quite nice.

The hotel is located by the river, offering some nice views, and the service is excellent. The food selection is quite extensive and tastes good too. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped with everything you need. The hotel is a bit older but has been well-maintained. Although getting to the rooms involves stairs, there's staff available to help with luggage.

I had to ask someone to guide me to my room. Many cigarettes butts in the balcony when I check in.

Staying at Queens Hotel felt like stepping into a gentler era. Its colonial charm sits proudly at the edge of Kandy Lake, with the Temple of the Sacred Tooth just a short stroll away. Great place. Excellent location.  I visited in December 2025, not long after the cyclone, less tourists than normal. I was upgraded to a suite, and they included my meals. Such a cool historic hotel and town.

Absolutely stunning, giant compound with an extensive history! They even offer a history walking tour but unfortunately there weren’t enough people signed up to make the tour happen. If you’re looking for a “colonial” stay, this is a great place. I recommend just walking around to see it for yourself. Hotel Suisse carries a colonial charm that takes you back in time. The food is good, offering a fair range of choices. However, the dining experience was slightly marred by some worn napkins. Situated on an inner road and with glass doors this hotel was a little scary to stay at. Breakfast was a set menu for each person and was layed out very beautifully.

As others have written, this is a great hotel. Wonderful rooms, staff, food, grounds. My only warning is that it is far from Kandy, about 45-50 minutes. So if your purpose of staying here is to see Kandy, you will spend a lot of time driving there.
