The balcony overlooks the very scenic khlong just behind the guest house, a lovely view. The balcony has no furniture, but you could perhaps take out the chairs and side table from the room. Anyway there is a beautiful, large communal terrace downstairs right on the khlong where I saw one customer also fishing. Very occasionally a motorboat passes by, or a lit up paddler at night. You get breakfast on the terrace from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m., but nothing else after that. Hot water for your tea is available anytime.
Private parking is easy and not narrow. The young Thai owner and housebuilder learned gastronomy in Europe, is very friendly, speaks good English (and French I think), has time for a chat and empathy for non-mainstream tourism.

Room 1 with wooden floor and historical touches looks pretty, but proved very small and impractical: there seems to be no light switch next to the bed, nor next to the small desk (which has a vintage phone though). There is also no electric plug next to the bed nor next to the desk. So if you want to turn on or off the light you have to get up from bed; also you cannot easily use a charger next to the bed, you need long cables.
The room has no cabinet to store your stuff away, just a small open rack. All in all it seems better for Bangkok weekenders than for long distance travelers with some luggage. In my weekdays stay there seemed only few or no other guests.
The Wi-Fi signal in my phone was weak, the laptop didn't catch any hotel Wi-Fi at all (this was even the case in the communal terrace, where the WiFi signal is strong, and i never had that before; please note that I didn't ask the owner about any of the things mentioned here).
The bathroom is very small. There is no board to store your toothpaste and creams on; you have to put them on the small sink and on the toilet water container; I don't know how a couple with some care products could lay out all their stuff there. There are many hooks though. The bathroom has no electric plug. The hot shower works well, the bathroom has a bit of natural aeration and no noisy ventilator.
When i came back one afternoon the room had 34,8 degrees Celsius; but the aircon is quite powerful and not noisy. When you leave the room, the electricity remains on so that you can charge, upload and download while out and about.
I believe that the light for the room's balcony cannot be turned off by the customer, but only by management. It shines into your room, especially if you don't close the curtains. Again, I didn't ask about it.

Staffs are really nice. Rooms are spacious and clean. Totally recommend.

The hotel has a lovely view and I stayed there on a weekday. Unfortunately, the café and restaurant downstairs were closed during my stay, and the hotel is not within walking distance of any restaurants or floating markets. Nevertheless, the rooms were good and the price was affordable. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

This is the best resort in AMPHAWA for those who want to visit local life. The long tail boat can pick customers at the resort's pier and take customers along the Amphawa river, merely just tell the resort reception of the need. This resort grows up with the local community and is considered real Amphawa.
