This was our third time at Baan Jaru. We had a very large room with 2 beds, big window. They served us breakfast which included fresh fruit. They can arrange trips in and around Chiang Rai. We like that the hotel is close to the bus station so you need no transportation after you arrive. Near the famous clock, night market, etc.

The best place to stay in Chiang Rai. We spend 1 night and the room was perfect, welcome by Todsawat, near the night bazaar. Breakfast very good. See you next time, why not

A fine stay. Nothing over the top - simple rooms with decent beds in the city at a decent price point. Breakfast again is nothing impressive - eggs, toast, and fruit.

This place is like a little paradise. Beautiful plants and little areas to recoup when the sun is too hot. The breakfast is amazing and the rooms are gorgeous, the beds were so comfortable the room so clean and the shower was hot. You couldn't ask for more!

This is a small private hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious and contain everything you need. The breakfast was an added bonus and although simple, set us up for the day. Walking distance to the clock tower and with a number of restaurants around to suit most palates. The staff were helpful with suggestions of what to see and the best time to visit.

We were staying for three days while visiting Chiang Rai. Our host was as super friendly and spoke perfect english (which is not that common here in Thailand). We got a lot of good and honest tips from him without them having an ulterior motive. Just for him we would probably come back as he also saved our day by getting us a short term transport to Chiang Mai. The breakfast options are few but everything that was there tasted good (Mostly fruit, toast and eggs). The rooms were clean, tidy and just what we expected. It’s also in walking distance to almost everything in the city center and therefore ideal for tourists. If we ever come back to Chiang Rai we would stay here again.

I visit Chiang Rai from time to time. I will not be staying anywhere other than this place. Everything as good as it gets in this price range. The owner told me a guest complained about the swimming pool being dirty,problem is no swimming pool at Baan Jaru.

This is small (8 or 10 rooms) family run business. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, aircon is cold shower is hot. The breakfast is simple but filling, enough to last until evening. The breakfast area is very pleasant you can eat inside or outside. The hotel is well located it’s a 10 or 15 minute walk to to the bus station, night markets, gold clock tower etc. if you want to go further afield ie to the White Temple, Monkey Caves, Myanmar border etc the hotel can put you in touch with a taxi driver with good English, his number ends in 8995.

Ban Jaru is a gem. The rooms are perfect, and it’s located near the central city, but in a quiet block across the street from a beautiful temple. I’ve been here three times. It’s perfect!!!! Breakfast includes omelets, toast, fruit, etc.
