Fantastic Stay at Losta Sahil Evi

I recently stayed at Losta Sahil Evi in Selimiye, Marmaris, initially planning for five days but extending my stay to seven due to the wonderful experience. During the first five days, I stayed at Losta Sahil Evi-2 in a room with a sea view. Afterward, I moved to Losta Sahil Evi-1, where I experienced a partial sea view room before spending my last night in a room with a view again. The hotel rooms are relatively spacious and comfortable, though they could benefit from some minor upgrades. Unfortunately, the last room had a sewage smell, but the staff promptly apologized, and given it was my final night, there wasn’t much to be done.

Staff and Service: The staff at Losta Sahil Evi-2 are incredibly friendly and helpful, as are the management and owners. They go above and beyond to ensure guest satisfaction. However, the staff at Losta Sahil Evi-1 were somewhat indifferent, which was a bit disappointing.

Location and Facilities: The seaside location includes a dock with sun loungers and umbrellas reserved for hotel guests, which turns into a restaurant in the evenings. The sea is generally clean, though occasional litter from the many sailboats in the bay is noticeable.

Internet Connection: The internet connection at the hotel was consistently poor, which is surprising in 2024, given that most guests rely on internet access. This was particularly challenging for international visitors without a local mobile plan.

Breakfast and Dining: The breakfast is outstanding, with a varied selection and the option to order extras like fried eggs at no extra charge. It’s puzzling, though, that while tea is included with breakfast, coffee incurs an additional charge. Furthermore, there is no complimentary water in the rooms, and guests are discouraged from bringing food or drinks into the hotel, making the on-site purchase the only option, which is pricier than local shops. The dinner prices are variable, and while some dishes are excellent, others are disappointing. Drink prices are similar to those in the area, with alcoholic beverages being somewhat expensive, considering the general price levels in Turkey.

• Service: 9/10 (due to the indifference of staff at Losta Sahil Evi-1)
• Breakfast: 10/10 (despite the coffee policy)
• Cleanliness: 10/10
• Restaurant: 7/10
• Location: 10/10
• Room View: 10/10 for rooms with a view

Despite minor areas for improvement, I highly recommend Losta Sahil Evi-2 for its exceptional service and stunning location. Although the prices are not the most economical, they reflect the beautiful setting and quality of service.

In summary, I give this hotel a 9 out of 10 and extend my thanks to the owners and staff for a pleasant stay.

It is my first time in Selimiye and enjoyed the quietness a lot. The whole village is super calm and good for relaxing. Losta Sahil Evi was such a great choice. The breakfast is good and they have a nice setup for the sea.

We stayed at Losta Sahil Evi for seven nights in September, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our room was in Losta Sahil Evi 3, which is the modern block right on the waterfront, next to the traditional ‘beach house’. Our room was clean and comfortable, with good air-con, a great shower, nice towels and bedding, and a balcony. The hotel has a couple of decking platforms in front, built out into the sea, they have sun-beds, shades, and ladders down into the fabulously clean and clear water if you fancy a dip. The location of the hotel was perfect, as it was easy walking distance into the town, but far out enough to keep it relatively quiet. We were staying there on a bed and breakfast basis, and the Turkish breakfasts we were served with were fabulous, tasty and filling. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful, and the mix of British and Turkish guests helped to create a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. Selimiye is mainly a Turkish holiday resort, and we got the impression it was popular with the cool and trendy set, there are some very flash restaurants along the sea-front, and plenty of nice shops in the town itself. We really enjoyed our stay in Selimiye, and we would have no hesitation in recommending Losta Sahil Evi, especially if you’re looking for a relaxed hotel on the waterfront, within easy walking distance of all the attractions that Selimiye has to offer.

This small boutique hotel is just beautiful. The staff are brilliant nothing was too much trouble for the bar staff. The cleaners did an amazing job daily cleaning our room - spotless! Breakfast was just incredible. Little jetty to swim from which is lovely. Plenty of space. Nice walk in to town with lots of restaurants - check the menu & pricing though as some don’t have an English menu. Have been twice now and would highly recommend it. Will be visiting again

I stayed here for a night. This place is very quite and cozy and a piece of heaven. The manager was very friendly. You will love the breakfast with this magnificent view. Totally recommend!
