Karargah’s location is a big plus, right at the start of Sanat Sokağı. It’s a stone building that’s been modernized without feeling overwhelmed by old details, which I appreciated—no 1870s vibe here. There was no musty smell from antique elements either. However, the room’s functionality could use more thoughtful design. The frosted glass bathroom door, which opens both ways and offers zero privacy, was uncomfortable. The bathroom’s layout was awkward, with furniture placement causing constant bumps. The safe was in a bizarre spot, and the wardrobe had just one hanger. On the positive side, the bed was spacious and comfortable, with cozy sheets, duvet, and pillows.

There’s no parking at the hotel, no municipal parking nearby, and the two private lots are pricey. If you can find a spot on nearby streets, use it. Overall, our two-night stay was decent, but considering all factors, we’d rate it no higher than 6/10. We haven’t tried other hotels in the area, so we can’t compare.

Lastly, unrelated to the hotel, the area is currently a bit of a construction mess due to infrastructure work in the side streets. It’s sad to see such a charming area filled with haphazardly covered excavation, but this isn’t the hotel’s fault. Hopefully, it’ll be resolved soon.

Great location. The staff is friendly, the rooms are fancy, but the AC system was definitely not able to cool the room at 40° outside temp.

Amazing location and amazing atmosphere. You need to make self check-in after 18:00 which is pretty usual for Airbnb users. No children accepted under 12 so no mess no screams in the hotel. Pure silent and peace. Rooms make you feel you are in a military basement from 1920’s. Rooms are clean and cosy. Would definitely recommend who wants to feel the Eagean spirits. Winters are also amazing with the fireplace in the garden. 🫶🏻

We stayed for 1 night. Since we checked in after 18:00, there was no staff after that time. But we easily solved it with our entrance password with an informative message. The room is spacious enough and everything has been thought of. The small details in the bathroom and the coffee machine are already heart. The building and garden were really tastefully done. The garden could have been a little more well-maintained. There was also carpet on the floor. Of course, it was a little dirty. :( We were generally satisfied. If we pass by again, we would like to stop by again.

Paid parking was available but a bit far from the hotel. Also, window insulation was poor. No fridge in the room to cool your drinks. Mini fridge with free water was available downstairs in the hall. Quality materials used for decoration. Traditional house vibe. AC was nice and quiet. Small safe not suitable for laptops or tablets. Night time entrance with keypad was available but narrow hallway after.

I recently stayed at a quaint hotel superbly located near the vibrant Art Street, perfect for those keen to explore local art and culture. The hotel, housed in an old mansion, offers a charming, historical ambiance but comes with several trade-offs. The lack of on-site parking necessitates paying for nearby private parking, which can be inconvenient and adds an unexpected expense. Additionally, the absence of food services within the hotel could be a drawback for guests looking for mealtime convenience, though unlimited free coffee and bottled water are pleasant perks. One should note that the reception closes at 6 PM, which could pose challenges for late arrivals or those needing evening assistance. The rooms, while clean and maintaining the property's antique charm, do not have TVs and the old mansion’s thin walls mean sounds carry easily from room to room. Despite these issues, the hotel's cleanliness and prime location make it a compelling choice for travelers, particularly those interested in the arts, who don't mind a few inconveniences during their stay.

Pros: Staff and hotel was good. Easy check in. Location is very convenient. Very comfortable bed.
Cons: The toilet was not properly cleaned as it had yellow stains but they cleaned it right away when we flagged it. The room we stayed at was facing to the street and right next to the entrance with a heavy door. So if you are a light sleeper, I wouldn’t recommend that room but I am sure the others are fine.

A small haven of peace a little outside Sanat Sokağı. It’s a boutique hotel in a historical building decorated with taste and elegance, managing to offer both warm and classy atmosphere which is usually hard to combine. The rooms were perfectly clean and fully equipped. The staff was professional and very helpful. There are several nice boutique hotels of this kind in Urla that I would like to discover during my next trip, but I have a feeling that this will remain the best one ! I definitely recommend.
