Majestic Sun Beach Resort by Panhandle Getaways in Destin

Bad, just bad. Unit is A407. Dirty, old lumpy and dirty couch, one chair on balcony and one chase lounge on balcony (weird), ice maker doesn't work and NO tray to make our own. Oh, and no metal roller for toilet paper, toilet paper just lying on the sink.

The stay here was horrible. Rusty appliances, black mold everywhere (not exaggerating), tiny amenities for so many people & the room was not ready on time. Also, we were told people from the hotel next door can use amenities which is insane because we could have stayed for less than half what we paid for the same amenities. This place felt like a scam. Too much money for what you get, and there are much better, safer and cleaner places in Destin! AVOID

If I could give zero stars I would. We checked into our condo this afternoon, only one elevator for the entire B building works. So you will need to wait for the elevator about 15 - 20 minutes. When we did get on an elevator full of people, the elevator was stuck for approximately 40 minutes while we waited for the local fire department to rescue us. Do not stay here unless you plan on constantly waiting on the elevator or would like to risk getting stuck on an elevator.

Sun Destin Resort, unit 1108. Entry to resort - nasty smell - smelled like cheap room freshner trying to cover up old musty smells. Property is old, not well maintained. Entry to building where the unit was located was clearly worn, and just plain unappealing. Cheap. Trash chutes were not available, and some just left their trash bags out in the hallway, near the elevator. The unit hallway on our floor was not air conditioned. Unit photographs in the listing were deceiving. The front door is in need of replacement. The unit itself was probably cleaned, but not well. The appliances and cabinets are outdated, cheap, and poor functionality. The only saving grace was the view. However, there must be other places that are more appealing with a view for the same amount of money. We would not recommend a stay at Sun Destin. When checking out, the service desk was highly understaffed. There was a long wait with one person assisting guests. We waited for up to ten minutes and then stepped over to the concierge desk and asked for assistance, as the line was getting longer. A few minutes later, the same person at the concierge came over to assist. Unbelieveable!

We (3 adult women) booked this condo via AirBnB Listing: "Majestic Sun condo with direct gulf views" back in February for a quiet beach getaway and our trip was anything but relaxing. The Location: My first piece of advice is, if you are not a large family of loud children, don't go to Destin. We booked for October figuring it's the start of the school year and most families won't pull their kids out of school and there would be less children. What we didn't know is that most schools south of Indiana have a fall break and we had the terrible luck of picking that week. It was packed with children. Now if you are a family with small children, I think Destin is a great beach spot. The water is very shallow for quite a distance and there's a ton of attractions for kids even on rainy days. I also want to note that the beach is not great for anyone with accessibility issues. It's across the street, then down a flight of stairs, and there was also a big slope to get into the water. Just an FYI for travelers. I will also note that Majestic Sun is HUGE with only 1 small indoor pool and 1 small outdoor pool. They would really benefit from more pool options for so many units. The outdoor pool also wasn't cleaned and was full of twigs, leaves, bugs, etc. Now let's get to our condo.......our "host" was Ginger, property management executive at Destin Luxury Real Estate & Rental. When we arrived, we noticed many cleanliness issues. Basically only the bare minimum is done between guests. Bedding, towels, sweeping. None of the walls or trim are wiped down, the comforters are not washed, the furniture and rugs are not cleaned. Every single throw pillow was stained, dingy, and falling apart. We immediately took all of them off of all the furniture. Same with the comforter that was also super gross. I slept with no blankets the first night until I found a clean one in the closet that I wasn't completely grossed out by. Thank god I always bring my own pillow. There were questionable smears on both bathroom doors. What looked like a blood splatter on the bathroom wall. All of the vents throughout the condo were filthy and peeling paint like they tried to paint over the gross instead of clean it. And the mold....Mold on our shower curtain and shower liner, mold around all the vents. Both shower curtains in both bathrooms were RUSTED TO THE HOOKS. The patio door track was disgusting. And every rug in the unit has clearly never been cleaned beyond vacuuming. There was gum smashed into the rug in our room. My sister refused to put her bare feet on that rug. We found 2 beach chairs in the master bedroom closet and went to pull them out of the bags to look at them and they were FULL of sand. Rusty, old sand. These are not nit-picky, minor things. We tried to ignore it all and not be "difficult" but, in retrospect, that was a mistake. We were not comfortable. My sister booked this room and contacted Ginger upon check-in Saturday night that we only had 1 wristband. Wrist

This review is specifically addressed to condo 514A in Majestic Sun at Seascapes Miramar Beach. We were overall disappointed with the property.  To start with there weren't curtains in any of the rooms and no blinds period in the living room or the bedroom with the balcony, which meant 100% light all the time.  The pool even reflected into the apartment at night.  2 of the 4 TV's did not work (in bedrooms 2 and 3), 1 wouldn't power on and the other had a big black bar missing in the center of the screen.  One of the beds had sand in it before we ever arrived, and was dingy which means clearly the sheets hadn't been changed between guests.  The overall property was unclean when we entered as we swept a sizeable pile of dirt, sand, and hair up before we ever hit the beach.  The kitchen utensils were dirty (food caked on them) and rusted and the coffee pot was a mess. The hairdryer cord had been cut and the dryer removed, but the mount was still on the wall. No replacement dryer was in the unit. The living room wall had a spot where they had been repainted with similar, but not matching paint (granted that could be forgivable).  The patio furniture was extremely weathered, one of the wicker chairs even had a giant hole in the seat and was unusable.  The toiletries were not enough for 10, let alone 8 adults for a week, only 1 roll of paper towels, a couple of rolls of TP, and 2 trash bags which required us to go buy our own.   We understand sand happens, as it's a beachfront property, but the unit was gross and clearly hadn't been prepared for guests.  The overall property (Seascapes) was beautiful and the view was amazing.  But if you rent this property, beware, you're only paying for the view and proximity to the beach, not a nice accomodation.
