Dunes Inn Michigan City Hotel in Michigan City

I had a terrible experience during my stay at the Dunes Inn in Michigan City. The room I was given was very dirty, and the noise level was unbearable—people were yelling and screaming in the room next door throughout the night. There was also a strong smell in the hallway that made me extremely uncomfortable, and the place overall felt unsafe. I even encountered what appeared to be bed bugs, which was the final straw and forced me to leave. The hotel seems to be poorly managed, and the environment felt chaotic and unsettling. I would not recommend staying here.

First walk into my "non-smoking" room and the odor was horrendous. Quite apparent that it had been smoked in.
Had 3 guests over and was told that I would have to pay more for having people stay in my room. Explained that they were my company not my roommates. They did not care. Was charged an extra $20 for a friend's dog being there 15-20 minutes.
Quiet, not a lot of people running in and out.

Pretty gross. My 5-year-old found a knife on the floor near the bed. Room#216. Also a tennis ball and water bottle. Obviously nobody cleaned it. Was able to sneak in my two cats, so that was good. Mold all over bathroom ceiling. Was supposed to be a non-smoking room, smelled like stale cigarettes.

my wife and I were on a trip and we decided to sleep in this hotel rubbish, I immediately asked for a non-smoking room and upon climbing the stairs in the middle of a lot of dirt we entered the room and the odor of the room was so strong that we decided to buy a neutralizing spray , when I returned from Walgreens I looked under the sheets and found bed bugs, packed our bags and left the room, the manager did not want to give me back the money. The other day I went after the owner who besides not believing in my photos was personally checking and guessing he found the bedbugs, just so he gave me back the value. want to sleep in a dirt hole this is the place. Tip 10 more dollars go to super 8 and have a nice clean comfortable night.

Not less than a year ago I stayed at this establishment crossing the country. My girlfriend, friend, and I stopped here as we were headed to the west coast from the east. We needed something for 18 year olds and we paid somewhere around 60 a room for a night at about 2 am (should have known). Might I add this is literally the real life envision of the motel out of Breaking Bad. I wasn't surprised to find a bathroom without toilet paper, towels, stained walls, or even trash littering the outside. What i was shocked to find out after about a month after this trip. That my friend who took one of the two beds in this apartment brought home BED BUGS from this establishment. Had me and my girlfriend chose that bed, we would have gotten them instead.(it was pretty random we just grabbed the one closest to the door)I warn you and anyone reading whatever you do, DO NOT STAY HERE FOR ALL THAT IS HOLY THIS PLACE IS NOT FIT TO BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. HEED THE WARNING OR SUFFER THE FATE MY FRIEND DID. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!!!! Keep in mind I would literally be selecting 0 stars if that was an option, negative digits if that was even possible.
