I had a great overall stay at The Galt House and truly enjoyed the experience. The hotel itself is beautiful and lives up to its grand, historic reputation. The convenience of having multiple dining options on-site, including Swizzle, was a huge plus and made the stay feel seamless and luxurious without ever needing to leave the property. The room, valet service, and overall atmosphere were all consistent with what I would expect from a high-end hotel.

The spa was lovely in terms of ambiance and service, and the experience itself was relaxing and well done. However, the cost-to-time ratio felt slightly off. While they clearly advertise 50- and 80-minute sessions, the pricing is on the higher end, and for that level of cost, I would typically expect the more standard 60–90 minute format that many spas follow. Ten minutes may not sound like much, but at that price point, it does feel noticeable.

I completely understand the need for time between appointments for cleaning and preparation, but ideally that buffer time shouldn’t come at the expense of the client’s session length. For a property as upscale and polished as The Galt House — with luxury rooms, rooftop dining, and full-service amenities — I would expect the spa experience to feel equally aligned in value and timing.

That said, the spa itself was still enjoyable and professionally run. Overall, the stay was wonderful, convenient, and comfortable, and I would absolutely return. Just something to consider if you are comparing spa pricing and session lengths.

The hotel is incredibly well maintained for being as old as it is and is in a perfect location to walk around and explore. The staff is incredible at the front desk and the elevators are fast.

The restaurants and food are open early and late so it’s easy to not be hungry.

There were only two issues. The bed is hard as a rock and offers no support, and the pillows feel like sleeping on rubber.

We stayed for a concert at the yum center. We showed up and our room wasn’t ready. They offered us another room for half price. Everything was clean and cozy. The Valet was amazing. It was extremely busy and they were jogging around to get to cars, very polite, and got to us fast. Highly recommended this valet service!

Great location. The staff were very helpful and attentive. By far the best breakfast. So many choices and good quality food. The room was small and definitely outdated. A mini coffee maker would make up for it. The room did have a comfortable bed and mini fridge. So many landmarks within walking distance.

The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The lobby, elevators, and rooms were spotless. There is a bit of wear and tear on hall carpet and paint, but the rooms are kept updated and in excellent condition. TVs, iron, Keurig, fridges, and bathroom fixtures all are updated to new. The beds are comfortable and towels large and soft. We were very satisfied with our stay. 5-stars!

The hotel is very beautiful and elegant, but the room itself was pretty basic. We expected more from the room. It is in a great location and the amenities that it does have to offer is very great. The one restaurant inside that serves the pizza was not good. Service was good but food was not but the hotel overall is very beautiful and in a good location for visiting Louisville.

This was a really nice hotel. The lobby was super nice. You can tell it’s an older hotel. It had an old city hotel feel but kept up to date. Glass elevators that go up through the main lobby. The hotel is separated. It has two main buildings that are connected by a walkway between the two buildings. I believe the one building is the original hotel and the second building where the lobby is located is the newer part of the hotel. They have an on-site restaurant. In this hotel is located right in downtown. So there are tons of dining options and attractions in close proximity. They have an on-site parking garage.

I visited BBC with a homeless woman I have met a few times near this location, just to buy a homeless woman a hot meal. I bought her and her friend a burger and fries (not my idea of hot meal necessarily, but whatever - give the woman what she wants!). She said that last time she came in there for a few minutes that they kicked her out in a very unkind way. But this time I went in with her to grab some food and we're treated totally differently. ?

Food is good. Beer is great.

A friend and I had the pulled pork sandwich with garlic fries. The food was good.
I must say we didn't see our server one time after she took our order. I finally tracked the manager down to pay the bill.
No one came to offer a refill or to see if we needed anything!
It was a Friday night, however at least an hour before the dinner rush started.

I came all the way from Omaha Nebraska to see the Eagles Concert and to enjoy Louisvilles, restaurants and bars down by the Yum Center. What a disappointment. We waited an hour in the cold doorway very patient until our name was called all the while to have Crappy Food and Drinks. I wanted Margarita so she came back with 2 slices of Orange in it and a lime. Tasted like it was diluted Lime drink with an orange in it. Any Bartender should know how to make this drink after returning it I was brought another one without the orange in it. Tasted awful diluted down again, so I just asked for it to be taken off bill. The food was awful we had bacon cheeseburger and it tasted like when I was in school and they made it out of a box, the bun unfortunately was the basic for a boxed burger. Waitress was in such a hurry she practically, wanted us to spit out what we wanted instantly. They were so busy it was awful. SERVICE AWFUL, FOOD AWFUL, DRINK AWFUL. What a complete DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

The beer was good but that was it. Would expect way better right across from a major venue. The frozen box burger came on a grocery store bun. Bar tenders only know how to pour beer. Would have rather had some chicken at the Yum center. It could be that maybe they just can't handle a crowd.

Stopped in just after lunch. Ordered a beer and bourbon. The atmosphere here is great. The basement floor bar is very cozy. Looked at the food menu but didn't order. Lots of different options like sandwiches, salad, fish.

The menu offerings are very good. The atmosphere is cool. Kind of uptown bistro meets pub. :) The food is pretty yummy. This is a nice spot and the staff is super friendly.

I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich for lunch. The outside was spicy and crunchy while the chicken was very tender. It had been a long time since I was there last, I will be back soon. The sevice was great as well and the total cost for our group was great.

There's definitely an inconsistency when going here. A couple of months back we ate here and it was great. Had a reservation, were seated as soon as we came in, food was as you'd expect. This time was just the opposite. Had a reservation at 6, so we arrived about 10 minutes before. About 15 minutes after 6, we asked what was the hold-up and apparently another customer came up when they called our name. We were standing right near the desk, so I don't think they actually called our name, but I did see a guy come up and ask about a reservation for two and they immediately seated them. They sat us after a minute or two, but what followed was not good. The service took forever, but I think this was mostly due to the fact that our server was spread thin. I really felt bad for him because we saw what appeared to be a manager shoot him a bad look when he dropped something. But hey, stuff happens. On that note, there were handful of guys standing around that looked to be managers that looked like they'd probably do better pitching in than standing around and criticizing. Just one person's opinion.

Awesome service, Amazing food, you get three courses for what ever meal you pick. So I got a lasagne which was 12$ and you get a loaf of bread, choice of soup or salad and Italian ice cream all included in that price. Half a star taking off due to the paper towel roles were not filled up, one soap dispenser is out of soap, and they haven't taking out the bathroom trash so it is over filling. Other then that, one of the best restaurants, beautiful restaurant, amazing service, good prices, and yummy food.

Okay, so 5 people and a small child ate here.
The food was just okay. Not great or awful. But the waitress was awful. Our appetizers sat in front of us before she served them for 20 minutes. We didn't get a refill (over an hour meal) until we called the manager. Manager never apologized for bad service. Waitress argued that she had taken care of us.

I get better service from a drive through. More friendly too

Service and food has improved a lot over what it was a few years ago. I had a lot of issues going here in the past, but my last visit was very pleasant. Their new spicy pasta dish is very tasty if you like spicy food.

Full of good food and nostalgia. The service is great and the atmosphere is very calm. They have options for all food eaters. Veg, Vegan, meat! It is a nice place to sit with someone you want to give your attention to with low noise and little to distract you.
