Reviews
The location was great and the hotel was very easy to find, which made getting around St. Louis really convenient. There was plenty to see and do nearby, and the hotel itself had such a beautiful atmosphere that it was enjoyable just walking around and taking everything in.
The downsides was that there was a bit of a musty smell in some areas of the hotel, which I imagine may be expected with an older historic property. It wasn't enough to ruin our stay, but it was noticeable. Also there was supposed to be a fire show in the back pond area, and there was nothing. Nothing was mentioned about this, so it was a little disappointing for the kids
Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay here again. The beautiful property, cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location made for a great experience!
Some nitpicks though: Some things could be explained better (especially for first time visitors), such as parking and how that works. And, in my case, if there’s something in your room that needs fixing, that you have to be up in the room when they come up to fix it. So that could be communicated better.
But overall, it was such a lovely visit! I can’t wait to come back and try all the things that are nearby! I was only able to ride the carousel and the Ferris wheel, but would love to go to the aquarium! There’s also lots of great restaurants nearby!
One word of advice make sure there is not a wedding or something that would cause features to be unavailable during you stay. A wedding caused some issues for our planned events but that's my fault for not checked ahead since we were only staying one night.
The parking situation is not ideal either, how it's set up, we had no choice to use valet and bellhop since traveling with a family and all the bags it comes with. Using those services added extra expense to and from the car and made things more hectic coming and going.
