The room was good. The staff was very nice. The no view room was a little odd because the view was of the elevator.

Got there early because I had a wedding to go to and wanted to check in before the wedding and they let me with no problem really appreciated that and I had a 12 o’clock checkout on top of it. They were very accommodating.

We did not have breakfast at the hotel therefore I did not rate it. It would be nice if the restaurant was open later.

Room was as expected. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because they only have Valet parking which is $38.00 per night and they charge you a fee then give you a $20.00 voucher to use in the hotel. The hotel was so busy that evening we were unable to use the vouchers (i had 2 rooms) and the restaurants were also booked up the next morning.

Room under construction as well as adjoining rooms. Internet difficulty. Good gym. Good bed.

The room was very clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was warm and inviting yet elegant. It was walking distance to all of the downtown activities that we enjoy and also to the Cliffwalk. We enjoyed everything about our stay! We will definitely visit again!

The room was very clean, the staff were very friendly. The only minus was the bathroom, only a bowl sink with no area to place anything at all.

We had a great visit at Hotel Viking. The only downsides were the bathroom in our room was very small, and the hot tub in the pool area was not working.

The hotel was within walking distance to Thames Street, which was a perk. The hotel was very clean. Unfortunately, though this stay was disappointing. Especially given the money that was spent for a nights stay. The room was so loud from AC/heating units that you could hear it from down the hall. I thought we stayed in the hotels utility closet. The bar cocktails were a miss and didn’t even finish...

Hotel was sprawling property so it was a long walk (elevators and multiple sets of stairs) to get to our room from front desk. The pool was awesome. The hot tub was small and no bubble/jet action. The staff was lovely and helpful. Location is walkable but it’s a hilly walk. Electric car charges were out of service 👎

The location is perfect, they also had comfortable beds and good showers. However, the service was inconsistent and lacking. Our group had multiple rooms, none had an iron which was frustrating, only one had a blow dryer, and the turn down service was inconsistent as well. I wouldn’t stay here again.

In our room the carpet was very dirty the begging of the room was wood floor in which was nice but then lead to the carpet where the bed was . They need to continue the wood floor. All hotels need wood floors for cleanliness and for good looks. The chairs in the room need updating along as the chairs by the fire places in the lounge areas the sofa need replacing as well it does not give a good look...

Meh This hotel needs a serious refresh. The rooms were old fashioned and drab for the price. It is a very convenient location but not sure it is worth the money peak season for what you get. The hostess at restaurant in the almost empty restaurant also told me they weren't sure they could accommodate us even though there was only two other tables of four sat in the whole restaurant.

Fantastic stay in Newport at a property that really went above and beyond to show the value they could provide. This wasn't an inexpensive hotel but somehow they made it seem worth twice the price. I went here for my birthday weekend with my boyfriend and it was the best stay, I could not ask for more! Surrounded by shops, restaurants, the water, etc. Unlimited ways to spend your time in the area, and once you stay at The Vanderbilt you will not want to go anywhere else.

This is my favorite hotel. The staff is always so kind, it’s perfectly located in Newport and has free parking. We’ve been coming for years and will never stay at a different place bc we love it so much.

Wonderful staff, huge two story room with gas fireplace, strong water pressure in shower, very clean, quiet at night, and fantastic location for shops and restaurants! Highly recommend.

We have stayed here 3 times. We love the location and it’s so quaint, from the sangria in the lobby to the rooftop deck. The only complaint I have is the couch and chairs in the room are not comfortable at all. In the evening, we watched a Christmas movie and really had wished it was comfortable, but that’s my only negative comment.

Our main objective for this trip was to visit the mansions, so being downtown on the harbor wasn't a priority. I know most people want to be in walking distance to Newport shops and restaurants, but if a peaceful location with stellar water views appeals to you, consider this resort. Besides the view that is to die for, and attentive and personable staff, Best wedding food I have ever had. Vegetarian option was delicious and the meat option was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I saw cleaned off plates everywhere! And don't get me started on the cupcakes! Some of the best I have ever had!!

Stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding. This place is amazing. The pictures don't do it justice. We stayed in one of the parlor rooms. Had a king bed, pull out sofa bed and 2 separate bathrooms with showers. Also a small kitchen area with range, microwave, toaster and ice cold fridge. Great location and in close proximity to downtown Newport.

Everything was perfect in this beautiful hotel. The staff was great and the views were among the best in Newport. Embarrassingly, I left some of my clothes behind when we left and they kindly mailed them back to me! Will definitely be returning for a second stay.

The room and living space was really great. The heating system is Terrible. The heat all came into one room and left the other bedroom and living area freezing where both kids slept. The hotel really needs to do something about this. Could sleep at all as my wife and I were sweating and the boys were freezing.

Amazing hotel the room are very specious with up stairs and downstairs. The staff was very friendly and helpful to where to visit around the area. The hotel is closed to all the restaurants, so all you have to do it park and walk!

The room was clean! I loved the1 bedroom apartment style space! The location was Perfect, as I was a solo traveler, and it was so convenient to have restaurants steps away! It is a designated Historical Site, built in 1845, so please know it’s doesn’t have the latest updates as a new hotel. There’s a wonderful coffee shop next to the Lobby of the hotel! We had chosen this B/B because we saw the Newport Mansion Lights Dec 2025. We wanted onsite parking. B/B had 12 rooms and 12 parking spaces. We stayed at the Outlook sister B/B in July. Outlook had parking offsite. Both are cute, clean, and breakfast was good.

The room was clean, large for 2 people, great bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and was part of the price. Staff was friendly. It was also a very short drive to the mansions.

Our stay at the Town and Tide Inn was excellent. We enjoyed our delicious freshly made breakfast. The Shed was a fun place to go and play a game of Scrabble, enjoy tea or coffee or hot chocolate. Our room was also very comfortable and clean

Beautiful Suite close to downtown Spotless and spacious suite with full kitchen. Steps from the main shopping and dining area, yet quiet. Would definitely stay again if back in Newport.

MY wife and I truly enjoyed our stay in a very nice 1-bedroom unit (#5) in early June. The location is superb, with virtually all of downtown Newport within walking distance. It was much more spacious than we expected, with comfortable furnishings, a very comfortable bed, fully functional kitchen, and ... surprise, surprise ... a functioning fireplace! And the garden courtyard entry was charming. Great...

The place is value for money just a place to crash and not hang around. Definitely the carpet in the hallway needs an upgrade. Cleanliness in the room esp the floors need a much thorough clean since it is dusty when we got there. Privacy wise it is a good place to stay safe and not so far fr the main city.

The room had no amenities other than a TV and did not have a fridge as promised BUT it was very clean. We left a tip for the maid service as we appreciated the cleanliness. The mattress was comfortable and the shower worked very well and they did provide a wake up call. Just be sure you bring your bathroom necessities as other than two little bars of soap - you are on your own. The towels are meager...
