Rooms are very dated. Torn up carpet and grimy looking cabinets. Cheapest flickery LED lighting imaginable. Bedding felt old. The pool could use better upkeep. The basketball hoops were no longer on the stand and by the time we left, there was only one tube for the lazy river. Almost nothing in the game room worked. That said, the staff was fantastic. Really outstanding workers. Customer service, 5 stars. Amenities? Not so great. Good price for a place to crash with a crowd. But I wouldn't book a vacation based on the photos of things to do at the resort. They are misleading. Rooms are relatively quiet, though.

We had 5 - 2BR units for a guys golf weekend. Very nice rooms with all the amenities we needed. The staff at check in was very nice and accommodating.
Grounds were clean and felt safe.
Location was close to a lot of good food options.

There's a lot to like about Colonies, and overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
However, due to a shocking incident, I'm leaving a more detailed review.

We took our kids to the indoor pool. It was a nice, quiet and relaxing space. My daughters jumped it and were swimming for a few minutes before another guest warned us no one should be swimming for a few hours. Someone had an accident in the pool and it was being treated. No signs. No manager in sight. No access roped off. Eventually we saw a property employee walk through the indoor pool area, so we asked her directly. She confirmed no one should be swimming due to the aforementioned potty accident and water treatment. We asked why there were no signs or indicators the pool is technically closed and she shrugged and walked away. We were disgusted and never swam there again. To me this seems like a major deal...maybe I'm overreacting? Oh well, I generally dont like to swim in sewage or heavy dosages of chlorine to dissipate said sewage, call me crazy.

We haven't completed our stay yet, but the staff has been wonderful! Friendly and accommodating. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. And the location is fabulous! Not more than 20 minutes to most attractions and tons have restaurants and grocery stores. The unit is probably one of the nicest and cleanest that we've experienced. There are a few things that could be improved upon, but they are very well laid out and comfortable.

Rooms were clean and provided what we needed. Could use a little updating but otherwise great! People were helpful and friendly. Pool (both indoor and outdoor) was fun for my kids and had a large outdoor hot tub for adults! Our stay was quiet with likely no one else in our building. They provided a washer and dryer which always makes coming home easier. Only 15 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg living history museum. And less than 30 minutes from both Jamestown and Yorktown.

This is a great place for families to come. The outdoor pool is great with a small lazy river and also a little kids section for playing.

The cool the pool in the summer so it always feels refreshing. They have grilling stations and plenty of tables for sitting.

Staff is friendly and rooms are very nice. Our two bedroom was very spacious with two full bathrooms.

It was our first time staying here and we really liked it. Plenty of space for 4 people since it's a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. All the comforts of home with relaxation. We would stay here again.

We stayed for a long weekend at the end of October, so it was off-season. There were so.e things, like the indoor pool, that we didn't take advantage of but overall the resort is beautiful and well maintained. The same for our apartment, it was in great shape with all of the comforts. We'll be back.

Resort is elegantly decorated and makes us feel comfortable and pampered. There is a jacuzzi tub in one bathroom and large walk-in shower in 2nd bath with a vanity station. There is also a very nice desk to keep up with remote work when required. Beds are comfortable with a king size, queen size, and pull-out couch. Gas grill is available for grilling and kitchen is well stocked. We entertained guests for dinner and had plenty of cooking and serving supplies.
One of the nicest RCI exchanges which we've experienced.

I went on a relaxing vacation with my mom and sister. We stayed in a cute 2 bedroom condo with a back porch.
The pool was nice and had water features for the children. Towels were provided pool side.
The unit was very comfortable....the office staff was super friendly.
The only thing weird was the fact you used your key card to get into three different doors: the front door, the hallway door and your door. But it was no big deal.
We plan to go back
