Classy Boutique Hotel

The hotel was nice enough, staffs were the friendliest and sweetest people you will ever meet. But my experience was tainted by an apparent manager yelling at the one of the staffs in the middle of the dining hall. It turned out, the staff was a new waitress, and though the hotel was supposed to provide her uniforms including shoes, they didn’t have a pair of shoes in her size, so they made it her problem to buy a new pair of shoes that fit their dress code. She had just started and hasn’t even gotten her first paycheck, so she tried her best to match their shoes requirement (black leather, low heels) but the manager was yelling at her because her shoes were “not black enough and had white flowers”. The waitress was trying so hard not to cry, I’m sure she felt humiliated and embarrassed in front of all the guests and other staffs. I also found out, the waiters and waitresses did not get to keep any of the tips. All of the tips go into a “community fund” to replace glasses and dinnerware owned by the hotel that are accidentally broken. If that’s how you treat your staff, you’re not going to have my business.

Old room. Fridge doesnt work. Everything looks like run down. The buffet does not offer varieties. But the price is cheaper than other branch.

There was a rat in our room. We asked to move and the only rooms that were available was the room next door and a room on another floor that the staff told us had a lice problem. We took the room next door and would you know it, 2 more rats climbing up the curtains. Night staff were useless. They wouldnt even plug up the hole in the roof thay that came down from. They came up to the room and went away. I had to go to reception where they were just watching videos. Day staff were nice and bellboy was very kind and helpfull. If it werent for the rats they would earn this hotel a positive review. The rats however are unacceptable and I would give it lower than 1 star if possible.
