The hotel is on the old side but for me the location and the amenities are the biggest highlight. The gym is very well equipped, the sauna is spacious and works very well, the pool is pretty nice too

There are also a few other lakes nearby, and if you're on a higher floor, the view is absolutely stunning. The hotel seems to be Japanese-owned or has a Japanese style

For a first time traveler to Hanoi, maybe it would be best to look for a hotel closer the the hoan liem lake or city center. This hotel is convenient if you are coming for business or if not your first time to Vietnam

Hanoi opera house was a 20 mins grab ride away. Grab is convenient so we did not face any issues. Vincom center and lotte department store are 15 to 20 mins walk away. Staff was super polite and helpful with our luggage

The hot water and air conditioning worked perfectly, and the soundproofing was surprisingly good. The front desk staff were friendly and check-in was quick and efficient

Conveniently-located hotel near the Hoan Kiem lake. The property has wider entrance but the hallways and elevators are very narrow like other thin and slim boutique cheaper hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter

The airconditioner is a smart and sharp one inside the ceiling and cools down the room quickly without much noise, but when I first entered the room the airconditioner was "heat / fan" mode only and I had to complain to the front desk to switch it to "cool" and waited more than 10 minutes in the humid room, because the front desk didn't inform anything whether someone would come to the room to fix...

The room was very clean, and the hygiene was good, but the Wi-Fi signal disappeared as soon as the door closed! The front desk service was very enthusiastic! The breakfast was rich! It's very lively outside!

The room is also small and bathroom shower space is even much smaller than you expect for the hotel price, I had to reach out my hand into really narrow corner enclave to grab the shower nozzle

Had a wonderful stay at Grand Cititel hotel. The hosts Lisa, Ivy and Bryan were extremely courteous, helpful and pleasing. But they made me very comfortable hosting me in the lobby and gave me early check-in too

We walked to hoan kiem lake and old town area and everything go so smooth. There is even a minimarket across the hotel (in the big builing across this hotel) so its easy to buy water

I booked four nights at this hotel during the May Day holiday. Since the twin room was fully booked for one of the days, I ended up booking a family room, which meant we had to switch rooms three times during our stay 😂

On the second day, we moved to a higher-floor family room with a terrace (which we originally booked ourselves). This was much better (picture 5), with sunlight and a main light in the room, making it much brighter

The front desk staff and room service were all very friendly and helpful, thank you to them! The only downside was that there was no pho for breakfast, and the breakfast selection wasn't very extensive

However! The facilities are really old, so be prepared! Here's a rundown of our experience (TL;DR: Don't book this place during peak season, as limited availability might lead to a bad experience)

All three rooms we stayed in had quite old facilities. The rooms felt damp, and the bedding had a greasy, head-oil smell (the housekeeping department claimed everything was thoroughly cleaned)
