Great location just moments from everything you need such as ski lift, ski shop, supermarket and restaurants. Good ski room with street level access. We had a lovely three bedroom apartment that could have slept nine if you wanted. A well stocked kitchen with kit to allow you to cook properly if you want. plenty of space to relax and a small balcony too. The private sauna also worked well though it was pretty small.. it's not as nice as a proper spa area in a hotel for my tastes. Slight surprise that the bathrooms have no toiletries but a welcome bottle of wine on arrival and some bubbles on new year were sweet surprises. We dined in the hotel once which was pretty nice but we found more tempting options around town. Reception was unstaffed other than when guests arrive and depart but Petra was super helpful and very responsive by text for any problems. It's a very good accomodation option in the heart of kaprun.

At the beginning of November 2025, we were lucky on our very first visit to Kaprun, because we stayed in this amazing hotel. The boutique hotel near the center has everything a mountain visitor could wish for. Beautiful, non-violent architecture, modern rooms with amazing views and luxurious amenities - such as sauna, parking, ski storage and other. The exceptional location is complemented by the culinary experience in the hotel restaurant Margarethen stein, where, under the leadership of Mrs. Magdaléna, they will offer you delicacies in the form of a fusion of Asian, Italian, Traditional and game cuisine. They cook really well, they take care of their guests and we definitely recommend a visit. The interior is really impressive, dominated by a moose head :-). Everything can be top, but the most important thing is the staff. And the staff in this hotel is impeccable!!! Smiles, friendliness, willingness to help are distributed at every step. This is a family business and it shows. Thank you very much for everything Petra!!! If possible, we will definitely come back and recommend it to everyone!!!

January, 6 nights in small boutique hotel, in the centre of Kaprun were relaxing and unexpextedly nice experience. It was situated nearby ski lift, also supermarket, also needed bus stations only 100-200 meters. The biggest surprise, or may be it is their standard quality, was the half board . First the dinner which was most delicious and suitable for all of us 4, definitely the level of 5* hotel or even more, not to say You have to be careful not to order too much. So thanks to the cook. The breakfast was also sufficient, everything You needed was available, the foodstuff or its material itself was fresh and healthy as in breakfast , as in dinner. One thing I missed was fresh vegetable juice in the morning, but its only me, fresh orange juice was available. And wines - I was always a little bit suspicious of Austrian wines, not any more, at least in their hotel. The apartment was very nice and comfortable, we slept really well. Saunas, quite enough for such small hotel, especially, there were never crowds and opened almost all the day. The stuff was very helpful and gave us every advice and fulfilled the request we asked. So nothing more to say, if I go back to Kaprun were I have been twice so far, I would definitely choose the same place.

This was our 2nd stay at Margarethenstein We had an amazing Christmas in Kaprun The suite is beautiful with its own sauna Positioned in the centre of Kaprun with free parking and only a 2 minute walk to the gondola The restaurant is superb and the people are so welcoming We will be going back

Amazing cosy place with very friendly staff and owner! Excellent breakfast and dinners! Right in the centre of top stores but also amidst fantastic walking trails. The room (Suite 405) was very relaxing, clean and luxury. I did not go skiing this time but for the people that do the facilities are walking distance ＜100m. Would recommend this place.

Stayed in the Apartment over Christmas. Lovely place close to the slopes, shops and town. Brilliant Boot Room to leave ski's and boots overnight to dry. Petra was brilliant. Always on hand. Cannot fault anything.

Perfect apartments, very cosy restaurant and excellent food! I recommend the half board service. My apartment had a private sauna and it was wonderful. The apartment is very modernly furnished and very comfortable. The windows are large and I had an amazing view.

The hotel is "in the middle of everything" and still in a quiet place with spectacular views. Both the (breakfast)restaurant on the top floor and the wellness give the opportunity to enjoy the Alps, too. I am looking forward to come back here.
