Pension Michael in Obergurgl

Lovely hotel, brilliantly run with fantastic hosts. Great value for money and very clean. The best water pressure we’ve ever experienced in a shower! Close to everything you’d need for your trip. This was my second visit to Obergurgl in the last few months, and the location is fantastic — probably a one-minute walk to the gondola, Spar, bars, restaurants and ski shop (use S1 Ski Shop as you’ll get free storage at the gondola too — not that you need it as it’s so close anyway). The hotel also has a boot room. When checking out, they actually offered to make us a packed lunch to take to the airport, which shows how far they go to please their guests. Nice breakfast every morning too. The only thing to note is the lack of plugs in the room, so you may want to bring an extension lead if you plan on charging GoPros or using laptop etc. We were lucky as we always pack one, which did the job. Will visit again!

Last minute booking turned out to be brilliant thanks to our excellent hosts, Michael and Margot (and also thanks to perfect weather!). Their hotel is a small family-run affair in the centre of the village, providing clean, well proportioned rooms, a good breakfast and an efficient boot room. Because of the last minute nature of our booking, we had to move rooms half-way through. This was done with the minimum of fuss, and I can confirm therefore that all of the 3 rooms that we saw wee good. A small word about the village - it is small, but full of character. There is limited skiing (Hochgurgl provides more, and Soelden more still, both easily accessed by the frequent bus service between the villages) and limited apres-ski, except of course for the Nederhutte which provides it like no other, especially now that most restrictions have been lifted. Brilliant! Otherwise, everything that stockysays is completely accurate.

If you are looking for super clean, warm and comfortable accommodation conveniently located to the lifts then look no further. The family and hosts, Michael, Margot and Veronica are a credit to Austria and cannot do enough to make your stay one to remember.

Quiet and very centrally located, barely a 5-minute walk to the valley station, several good restaurants for a fine dinner within walking distance, outstanding hospitality, a warm welcome, very clean, generously furnished rooms, excellent breakfast with a daily selection of bread, qualified ski instructor in the house, heated ski boot rack , Parking behind the house, if desired, parking space in the underground car park directly opposite.

Great family business, very warm with a lot of know-how about the hiking area, including Michael himself who also makes tours. So great. The accommodation is also great, 90 degrees and steam sauna after hiking is just the thing. Breakfast is also good enough to start the day nutritiously.

A rather coincidental find - and what a find. A charming, small guesthouse with beautifully designed rooms, comfortable beds, a rich breakfast, a small, fine wellness area, and extremely friendly and warm hosts. We felt completely at ease and would like to come back in winter. Thank you and greetings from the Rhineland.
