Hotel Regina in Obergurgl

Wonderful hotel in an amazing place. Lovely owners make you feel like you're part of a family. The breakfast was very varied and delicious. Great parking facilities. Would recommend and I will be coming back.

Our second time in Obergurgl which was a winter wonderland this time. The Hotel Regina is a traditional Austrian hotel, ran by an extremely hard working family. The hotel is immaculately clean. The main downstairs area is modern and well designed, our bedroom was a little dated however was in excellent condition and spotlessly clean. Only downside to the room was no tea or coffee facilities- I knew this in advance therefore took my own along. The spa was wonderful! I made good use of it, with a large sauna and a steam room, and comfy loungers to relax in. The boot room worked well, it could get busy just before lift opening as to be expected. It was very well laid out and you could just grab your ski’s from the corridor in your way out the door. The only downside to the ski facilities was the location of the ski room , which comes out on to the road and on a steep hill. It is then a 3 minute walk to the slope which you can push your way along to the blue 6 which takes you down to the loft area. The breakfast was 10/10 absolutely perfect! There is no evening restaurant, however there are pizzas available 3 nights a week in the bar and you are welcome to take your own food into the bar area, where you are supplied with cutlery and plates while you enjoy a drink in the comfortable bar. We enjoyed our stay with the family and thank them for their hospitality. . We had a wonderful week and made fond memories.

Great location in a peaceful area above the village. Not ski-in ski-out, but from the basement ski store & heated boot room, it’s a short walk up the road to the nearest piste (Blue 6) with an access point next to the ice rink. You pass by the Riml Sport ski rental shop which, despite being emblazoned with a prominent “OUTLET” sign, is a very classy & helpful place. Once on Blue 6, you can head left - downhill to the bottom of the Festkoglbahn gondola (via the short Wiesen button lift) – or right – very slightly uphill initially, followed by a downhill run to the base of the Hohe Mutt Bahn & Rosskarbahn gondola lifts. On your return, if you want to avoid a long uphill walk, you’ll need to get some speed up on Blue 6 to get back to the ice rink area. Hotel Regina is spotlessly clean with a very attractive breakfast room and a quiet & well-appointed bar area. The basement spa is surprisingly spacious, with a large sauna, a small steam room, a Jacuzzi, a couple of foot spas and a relaxation area. Plenty of towels available, but beware the E9 “deposit” for a robe is actually a E9 charge. Breakfast is pretty good – nothing special, but a decent selection of cereals, cold meats & cheeses, fresh fruit, yoghurt, breads & preserves. And, if you arrive early enough, you can help yourself to bacon & fried eggs too. Bedrooms are quite traditionally furnished, and the rooms with balconies are spacious & comfortable with lovely south-facing views. The daily service is very efficient, but there is no fridge nor any tea or coffee-making facility. The staff are generally friendly, but the owner can come across as quite surly – the rest of the family seemed lovely. It’s a pity that they don’t offer restaurant service in the evening.

BEAUTIFUL STAY My partner and i had such a lovely week’s stay at Hotel Regina . The location was just fabulous -near the slopes ⛷️ Our room was so comfortable and i really appreciated the bath to soak in after a hard day skiing! Typical Austrian decor which was gorgeous and made you feel so warm and cozy At breakfast we had lots of choice -bacon eggs -sausages -meats -cheese and pastries. A lovely little bar area where you could get a drink ! You can store your skis equipment safely there and literally step onto the nearby slopes. The Regina is family run hotel we were given such a warm reception , and throughout our stay Big Thanks to Gotthard and his family for making our stay so comfortable.

We had a really lovely week staying at the Hotel Regina. All the staff were perfect, very friendly and welcoming! From the cleaners to the main family owners. Very kind! Loved the decor inside of the building. Highly recommend and we would love to stay again when we return to Obergurgl. To family Shöpf, Thank you for a great week!

We stayed for one week as a family of four over Easter. The hotel is fantastic - comfortable spacious room, spotlessly clean throughout, fabulous breakfast with lots of choice, a very short walk onto the slopes, great boot room and lovely bar area. We had dinner in the village each evening (would recommend booking during peak season) and it’s a short, steep climb back up to the hotel. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend.

This is an excellent family run hotel. It is very clean, wide variety of options for breakfast, clean and open boot room (that smells nice too), well positioned close to the slopes. A nice spa to end the day. Nothing is too much trouble. Both husband and wife are very welcoming. Beautiful decor and attention to detail. Would highly recommend

This is a wonderful family-run hotel - and we would definitely return. Large rooms, lovely social bar area and a wellness area that is second to none. And delicious breakfasts as well. Ski shop one minute walk away, ski slopes two minutes walk away - out and back. Thank you all for a great week!

Amazing hotel to stay at with the nicest staff! We had to change hotels because we weren’t able to make the first dates, we wished we could’ve stayed the rest of our time here. 100% recommend! Excellent breakfast
