We had a great experience at this hotel! The breakfast is to die for! I also personally want to thank the amazing staff for your care. I left behind a pair of expensive earphones that were gifted to me, and they were kind enough to mail it to my home. Vielen, vielen dank!

It was an absolute pleasure to stay here for a week with our toddler. The staff has taken care of everything with a smile and amazing vibe. Also, the owner of the hotel is extremely nice, welcoming and fun to talk with. We also really loved the food, cleanliness, pool, sauna and the kids zone. Not to talk about the great view. Thanks so much for hosting us, it was amazing.

This is family run hotel located not in the touristic area on a hill with a magnificent view. The service is perfect, breakfast sufficient and four-course dinner menu every day something different, also always one dish for vegetarians to choose from. Rooms are big enough, beds are comfortable and the terrace is big enough. Ideal place for vacation in summer and winter, the hosts can give you great advices, where and when to go to touristic or not that crowded places. I hardly return to the same place twice but tempted to go here in the winter again. One note - even arriving at the midnight the first day, there was no issue to get to the hotel.

Overall, this is an excellent hotel. We stayed as a family for a week in January on a ski holiday , half board. Location - the hotel is situated above the town of St. Johann im Pongau and within walking distance of the ski lift in Alpendorf. It is a little isolated but in a stunning location. The walk down to the gondola each morning was nothing short of magical. We got a taxi back in the afternoon as we were tired after skiing . Food - we had half board and the food is really excellent . Breakfast is very nice and all produce seems of very good quality. They cooked porridge for me every morning at no extra charge . There were some lovely cereals , lots of bread and various egg types. My kids would have liked some bacon and some pastries but still managed to have a very filling and enjoyable meal every morning ! Dinner was a set meal with a choice of main course . The food at dinner was just delicious. It changed every evening and was tasty, creative and beautifully presented . One night we had roast chicken and I have never tasted any chicken so good. If you didn't like the set dessert you could have delicious ice cream. Staff - staff were hardworking and really friendly . We loved the fact that we were among all Austrian/ German people . It made it really authentic. The owner , Raimund, answered about 100 emails from me to prior to our visit and he is a very engaging and entertaining host ! We had good fun with him. Rooms - the hotel has just been renovated and it is very nice . Rooms are clean and spacious with a great minimalist look. Pool and spa - there is a gorgeous outdoor pool which we used every day ! Swimming in the pool with snow falling is just incredible and one of our pre requisites for our annual ski holiday . Der Alpenblick did not disappoint . Value - we paid just over 4000 for 7 of us ( adults and teens ) for a week half board and that total included our wine and soft drinks ( charged separately ). I have no idea why this hotel is not 4 star ! It is really fabulous in every way .

Absolutely stunning location! The outdoor pool and sauna were a wonderful, refreshing touch after a long drive.
We didn’t catch the man’s name on reception, but he truly made us feel super welcome and nothing was too much trouble!
Breakfast was beautiful and convenient, buffet style but all fresh and regularly topped up and great produce!
Although only there over night, broke up our long drive fabulously!!!!! And the views were incredible! Thank you so much! If ever in Austria we will surely return!!!!!

We stayed at 'Der Alpenblick' for 4 nights. We absolutely loved the location, it's remote and at the same time very close to the ski lift in Alpendorf and very close to Sankt Johann im Pongau. We found out they have renovated the location while being closed due to COVID, so everything smelled of new and fresh wood :) I do believe the available places in the Saunas are not enough for the number of guests there were but maybe it was just because it was high season. The rooms are very clean and so is the spa area (big plus for the outside heated pool). Breakfast was amazing. A suggestion to the hotel owner would be maybe to switch to a 7AM breakfast start during ski season so people can have breakfast and be early on the slopes :) Highly recommend!

Great long weekend skiing.

Extremely clean and accessible hotel. The owner & front of house could not do enough to look after us. His English was also impeccable. We ate breakfast there each morning and had our evening meal on two occasions, the food was also great with good portions.

We took a short walk to the lifts in the morning (10 mins) although I believe there was a bus/taxi that left at 9:15.

I will be returning and maybe in the summer with my children.
