Hilton Antwerp Old Town in Antwerp

Rooms are spacious and thats about it. Service was terrible. Room service ran out of food saturday the 16th of may at 10 pm even though theres supposed to be a night menu. My wife got food poisoning from the hotels restaurant and we ended up in a belgian hospital. Finally we forgot one bag inside the room and spent 30 minutes waiting for the cleaning lady to bring it out, making us miss our train and possible our flight due to the inflexibility of the lady in the front desk.
Ive been a hilton gold member for years now and this by far has been the worst hilton experience ever.

The apartment itself is average. There are a few TLC issues: cupboard doors broken, bedside table cracked, uncomfortable sofa, broken freezer etc. The floor could do with a good clean. The entrance is down a dirty alleyway where the restaurants keep their bins. You need a code to enter the property every time, there is no key. I messaged the company to say the WiFi and TV were not working and received a standard reply to thank me for my feedback but no help.
The apartment is a very good size, with an enclosed balcony, overlooking the shopping street. It is very central and a good location.

We arrive at our property and dirty sheets were still in the property and no cleaning had been undertaken. Impossible to speak to Smartflats (other than via AI). Called ******* in desperation who were also unable to help. Finally got relocated to another apartment.used Smartflats twice whilst in Belgium and will not be using them again

There was urine on the mattress. The shower head wasn’t connected to the shower line, the hot water was turned off and customer service was useless to help. There is a sleeper couch with a mattress that is ripped, dirty, and I guarantee is covered in bed bugs. The floor is dirty and will turn your socks brown. Oh and also the entrance code randomly changes so you may get locked out for a night. Good luck.

This place is an absolute dump. Do NOT stay here. You're greeted with a hard to find alleyway piled high with garbage, old furniture, etc. Upon entering the building, you immediately realize the entire place absolutely reeks of rotting garbage. I went upstairs and the place hadn't been cleaned from the previous people. Eventually someone came, but only cleaned for about 10 minutes, including CLEANING THINGS WITH THE OLD BATH TOWELS. Then, some random person walked into the place, I'm guessing maybe the previous guest - apparently they don't change the code between guests - they left in a hurry when they found out someone else was there. Found out from someone at the restaurant this place has been known to have squatters. We tried to get out of the reservation but got the runaround, asking for pictures of the terrible smell??? The place is beat up and shabby, absolutely filthy if you look beyond just the surface. They offered us a "15% discount on our next stay" as compensation. Nope - headed to the Marriott and filed a chargeback.
