It's a lovely hotel that feels like a museum. I appreciated that drinks like coca tea were available 24 hours a day in the common areas. The building itself is old, and the rooms creak when you walk around and ants come in when you open the windows, but it was cleaned properly. The heating was on, and the shower water temperature and pressure were fine. It's located on a fairly steep hill, so be careful if you're walking up with luggage.

Location is good, close to the busy areas, but is quiet. 10 minute walking to Mi Teleferico station. The area appears to be safe. Room is clean, water presure is good. Furnitures are old with their antique feeling. There is a heater in the room if needed. Staffs are very friendly. Breakfast is ok. They allowed us to check in early, and stored our luggages after we checked out. 24 hour front desk and all day available of hot water and coffees and teas.

El Museo Hotel Boutique is a charming hotel in a good location.

The building was once the home of Jorge Muñoz Reyes, a major figure in Bolivian petroleum exploration, and it is now owned by his grandson, who partially grew up in the house and previously tried to convert it into a museum. Elements of the museum remain: little collections of hats, typewriters, ink bottles, etc.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

The street is quiet, but it's just a short walk to Plaza Abaroa and the restaurants and cafes there.

My flight was canceled, so I had to stay at this hotel at short notice. The room was spacious, very clean, and had hot water. They provided not only soap and shampoo, but also conditioner. There was also a hair dryer and heater, and coffee and tea were always available in the kitchen. Taking a taxi from the airport (Uber was the same price) cost 80 bolivianos and took about 20 minutes. You can also arrange a taxi from the hotel to the airport for 80 bolivianos (Uber was more expensive early in the morning). You'll probably need to take a taxi to get into town. I didn't have breakfast, but I think they provided fruit, bread, crackers, etc.

Friendly staff gave us a warm welcome.
Another positive was that free coffee and tea were available in the lobby all day long. The location is central, within walking distance of the town center, although you do have to be aware of significant elevation changes. It was also nice that there was an extra heater in our room, which was really necessary given the cold.

Unfortunately, there were some significant drawbacks. The room was very noisy, and the bed was hard and uncomfortable. The toilet got clogged, and the shower didn't flush properly. Upon arrival, we also found some hairs on the bed and in the towel, which didn't look very hygienic. We also found the breakfast meager and unappealing.

We love small independent hotels like El Museo. The service was exceptional and the room was delightful! We had the Jorge Suite with two massive windows overlooking the city and mountains. We loved sitting in bed after a day of visiting with the windows wide open. The room was large, the bathroom and shower were great. There were all kinds of relics from Bolivia’s past including books, typewriters, hats, photographs. Very cool!

Good place to have a dinner most of the plates are french but there are also locals, the price for meal is 12 to 16 Us Dollars average.
Extras like a bottle of wine or extra sides will cost a little bit more.
The attention is good but some tables (very few) are very small and are in the middle where the waitress walk all the time.

Chicken was cold nor cooked at all!!!!!
Chips were cold and stale.
Rice was cold.

Told the man, before he even got to my table that I was not going to eat the cold and stale chips which I had seen him put on my plate.

He said, "they are fine, don't worry"

After then seeing the rice and chicken status, I told him I am not paying full price and he gave me a mere 5 boliviano discount. When all I did was eat 2 spoons of rice and one chip.

Do not eat here.
