This is literally the only place we stay when we are in Rousse. We've already been here twice this year and are hoping for a third. On our latest visit we had 3 rooms - 5 adults and a 2 year old baby - and everything was just as excellent as we remembered. Can't wait to be back here.

Every-time we spend the night in Ruse, we choose Riga. That being said, it could be a much, much better hotel if it had better management.

For us, it is super attractive because:
- location, on the banks of the river;
- views are amazing, especially the sunset;
- it is an iconic building, with its high rise, brutalist architecture;
- PET FRIENDLY;

Not so great:
- it is obvious that management is not the best;
- it is rated as a 4* hotel, but expect 3* quality and service;
- breakfast;
- poor quality of everything that is new: furniture, decorations, doors, windows;

We have stayed in this hotel on numerous occasions and it has always been OK. However we went to have a meal there a few weeks ago and it was just awful . Staff were rude ,service extremely slow and the food definitely below standard.

Note the panoramic restaurant is for large group booking only. They are also refurbishing some of the floors and areas are closed, it could be excellent in the future

It is a tired old hotel in a pretty tired city. We were there for one night. The check in was complicated. The elevators are something out of another century and take a long time to show up. The room was ok, but when I opened the curtains to view to Danube my windows were covered top to bottom with bird feces (i guess they were nesting up in the overhang). The breakfast was very average, and the staff decided to take the occasion of the busiest breakfast hour to refill the coffee beans and milk in the coffee machine (why didn't this get done before they opened?) and so there was no coffee for about 20 minutes and then a queue. All in all, not impressive.

Amazing staff - especially on reception. Always smiling, with positive attitude and makes you feel welcome. Makes your stay and mornings on a working trip pleasant. The hotel itself is very tidy, renovated and the river view is a plus. If you’re traveling for work I would highly recommend.
