Sok San Beach Resort in Koh Rong Island

We traveled as a family and stayed at Sok San Beach Resort for 3 nights.

The resort is situated on a beautiful beach. The layout is well-designed, and even when fully booked, it never feels overcrowded.

However, the rooms and the hotel itself are somewhat dated and worn. The air conditioning in the room works only moderately well, and some of the ceiling fans are broken. The room isn't sealed properly, allowing light and mosquitoes to get in from outside. The showerhead doesn't work, and the light in one of our two rooms was out. The wooden pathways within the resort aren't well-maintained; nails protrude, and you often trip due to patched-up planks.

The restaurant is expensive and nothing special. Most guests only eat breakfast there and go to the village, 700m away, for other meals. The breakfast, compared to the accommodation price, is sparse and basic.

The laundry service is pricey and unpredictable. Our laundry wasn't ready after 1 day but after 3 days, and only after we kept asking. On the second day, there simply weren't enough towels, so we had one towel for five people.

There aren't enough sun loungers or cushions for them. The internet completely failed for two consecutive days without any communication from the staff.

The management and the staff at the reception and restaurant are inattentive and sometimes unfriendly. Instead of engaging with guests, they play on their phones, dismiss concerns, or make excuses. This was particularly noticeable to us, as we experienced the exact opposite elsewhere in Cambodia.

The resort has so much potential and such a great location to be something truly special, but unfortunately, the accumulation of small flaws everywhere leaves a mixed feeling. The service and management are largely responsible for this.

The place is good for relaxing and who like quiet, nature.
