Sok San New Beach Bungalow in Koh Rong Island

First, when we arrived we had to wait for our room to get ready, i.e. the owner made it up on the spot.

Second, the owner didn't tell us anything when we checked in - nothing about the WiFi (which wasn't working), the water (which often didn't work, & thus preventing us from showering), the electricity (which is only on at nights [since we are on a fairly remote island]) or the establishment's restaurant​ (which was not functional that evening).

Third, the room was very basic, which we expected. What we did not expect was the bloody stains on the sheets, and the suspicious yellow stains on the towels. Furthermore, we had the impression that this was a beach-front place, however, our bungalow was much further back off the beach, on a river that looked potentially toxic. It was not the pleasant, serene, relaxing setting we had been hoping for.

Finally, the owner didn't really seem to have any of the guest's interests in mind when, from about 7pm until midnight, he blared terrible corny female epic blads from the 90s at an unreasonably high volume.

We rented a Canoe at Soksan Long Beach Bungalows. There was a hole in it and the guy of course didn't tell us. The internal plastic hull was slowly filling up with water and the boat started to be very unstable. We tried to come back when we were at least 500 m from the beach but it was impossible. We had to jump on the sea and swim all the way back dragging the heavy sinking canoe. Now I think we should have abandoned it because we almost drowned. The guy didn't seem concerned at all and faked he couldn't understand English anymore. This is criminal behaviour.
