The Palm Bay Resort in Sihanoukville

I had a very disappointing stay at Palm Hotel.

The hotel was extremely dirty throughout. The rooms clearly had not been properly detailed or deep cleaned — there was visible dirt, mould, and scum in multiple areas. The overall hygiene standard was unacceptable. There were also exposed wires near a lamp in the room, which felt unsafe and concerning.

The mattresses were very uncomfortable. They were extremely hard and covered in a plastic protector that made constant noise whenever you moved and did not allow the bed to breathe. This made sleeping even more difficult, especially combined with the outside noise.

The WiFi rarely worked during our stay, making it unreliable and frustrating. One of the windows in the room did not have a curtain, which meant there was little privacy and light coming in at unwanted hours. When we requested that this be fixed, the request was denied, which was very disappointing.

The hallways were messy, with piles of dirty sheets left sitting out in the open. The entire property had a foul smell that extended throughout the hotel and even into nearby areas.

Breakfast was poorly managed. There was not enough food available, items were not replenished, and many tables were left dirty and uncleared. It did not feel organised or hygienic.

On 19th February, I had a particularly upsetting experience at the noodle station during breakfast. I speak fluent Khmer, yet the staff member working there served everyone else before me. I was left standing until the end, and when I was finally acknowledged, I was handed a bowl that had been sitting to the side with ingredients I did not request. The way the situation was handled made me feel singled out and unfairly treated.

To make matters worse, the noise from bars across the road continued all night, making it very difficult to sleep.

Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience. Between the cleanliness issues, safety concerns, unreliable WiFi, lack of privacy, uncomfortable beds, poor breakfast service, and unprofessional treatment, I would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made.

I booked a room through the app. When I arrived, the staff had not yet given me a room, they made me wait. Then my room was given to another guest by the staff and they said that we had already opened the room. And then the staff changed me to a new room, which was smaller than the room I booked, Poor customer service.
