Great place to stay in Siem Reap! Quiet and still easy walking distance to everything, old market, the restaurants along the river or the infamous pub street. The garden, court an swimming pool are an oasis, we ran in the Angkor half marathon, and spending some hours around the pool after the run was just the thing we needed.
Hal, the owner, was helpful with organising everything, staff was incredibly friendly.
No idea why some of the comments are so negative, because I did not experience any of this. The shower was strong and very hot, the fridge was working and the beer from it cold. I have stayed here several times by now, and will certainly return when coming back to Siem reap!

This hotel is like " a home away from home" Friendly and helpful staff. Big clean rooms with fans, ac and in- room safes. The grounds and pool offer shade and ambience after a day out touring

We stayed here on an Intrepid trip. The bungalows in the garden are lovely. Service is swift and friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean ... the shower enormous. This is a characterful stay rather than sumptious. Well worth it.

Not a hotel I would recommend. The exterior is cute and nicely landscaped! Short, easy walk to the main part of Siem Reap so I wouldn't say it's a bad location, but it's not in the center of it all. The rooms are set up very cute like little bungalows. Unfortunately, we were part of a large group, and every room didn't have enough hot water for a shower and didn't drain. So we took showers by turning off between rinsing out shampoo, conditioners etc. We told staff, they just said that's the way it is. The other main reason for my poor review is that like most hotels in Asia when not in the room, you don't have the room key inserted to turn the power on, so we got beers from the hotel lobby instead that were cold. To cut the story short, price raised every time we went to pay the bill, we couldn't pay by credit card despite trying 4x over 3 days, and ended up paying him cash in some sort of scam - unsure what. Breakfast was horrendous, worst out of 5 hotels we stayed at in Cambodia. They say they do take-away the day you leave... they do not.

An idyllic retreat in the old Town that offers peace and serenity while being a stones throw from the action. Rooms are well appointed, spacious and clean. I love the balcony overlooking the garden and the pool is great too. Owner lives on site and has ensured that the property has remained well kept although it's been relatively quiet. Excellent value. Visit while it's so affordable. Breakfast options near by and room has fridge and coffee making things so very convenient to do your own thing too.

Highly recommended! My friend and I had recently visited Siem Reap and we stayed in this hotel. Our trip was entirely planned by Mr. Hak who is the owner of this hotel. Great service and everything went smooth. The room was clean and great hospitality by Mr. Hak and his team. Loved every bit of time spent in Siem Reap!

Run away, Nieces pictures on the add but not real. Light in bathroom not work, bad smell, lot of insects, not so clean, bed made in concrete. The manager didn't do anything for the problems, who are not from the day before but from any days or weeks.

What a beautiful hotel! I am really surprised at what is offered here. The rooms are spacious, clean and the bathrooms are very open. Power plugs are all over the room and you've also got a couch as well as a king size bed. Very good sized pool and it's CLEAN. Love this place.

Sonalong is an absolutely perfect base for exploring Siem Reap and the Angkor Wat temple complexes. This beautiful and peaceful boutique hotel village is an absolute delight. The rooms are in individual buildings all overlooking a beautiful garden and pool area. The on site restaurant serves a great range of local foods and drinks. Vegetarians are well catered for. What makes Sonalong really special is Mr Hak and his incredible staff. Nothing was too much trouble, they were extremely helpful and friendly and they made this a truly wonderful stay. I would thoroughly recommend and I intend to return as soon as possible.
