River Retreat Boutique Hotel in Siem Reap

To me, this place gets a 10 out of a 10. The staff are a nice group of people. It's very clean, and comfortable rooms, and bed. They provide you with water and toiletries daily, it's a 10 to 15 minutes from the centre, and it's a scenic walk. Great value for the money, and I've extended twice.

Enjoyed my stay Shawn and Ena are wonderful hosts my room was clean and comfortable shower pressure was excellent. being away from the tourist area may not suit everyone but it's only a short tuk tuk ride to pub street I highly recommend River retreat it's felt like home relaxing came easy the staff are friendly and always had a smile on their faces I am planning to return to Cambodia and River retreat will be my first choice to stay

It was an amazing experience visiting Siem Reap and staying at the river retreat. Sean really makes you feel welcome and the hotel is always clean and tidy. The staff are lovely and it's located in such a convenient area! Very peaceful and just 1km from pubstreet.

What a delightfully incredible place. It has been tastefully renovated to perfection certainly recently, and it oozes the charm of the surrounding jungle and love all the plants at the front of the hotel. The rooms were warm and inviting and air conditioning super cold. Meals were top notch and we ended up eating in more than intended because there was a great spread of cuisines and pretty hard to fault.
But for me, the greatest appeal was the service. From the attention to detail in arranging our tours and guides from hosts Jennifer and Sergio, to the faultless service and most incredible welcoming (like we were family) by the Cambodian staff of Soso, Eng, Sammut, Darwin, Pek and the most incredible Tuk Tuk driver in Vuthy.
We fell in love with the place, fell in love with Siem Reap and it was all thanks to this place we called home for a week at the River Retreat Boutique Hotel. So much so that we have already booked in to return in August AND December again in 2025!

Super boutique place. Lovely ambience. Fab food - chef makes some of the best tofu pad Thai n fried spring rolls. Great hang out place. We went there three times n Jen n Sergio were so welcoming. Just a chill spot by the river in Siem Reap. They gave us local knowledge on a couple of local places to visit that weren’t even on our radar.

Cannot speak to the rooms, but the courtyard garden bar is a great area to meet friends and listen to live music. Drinks and food menu is priced similarly to other bars in Siem Reap. Close to the river where you can take a tuk tuk or Grab to your next destination.

I had a wonderful week-long stay here. Adam and Laurent are amazing hosts and make you feel at home at their place. My room was comfortable and had almost everything I needed. They have daily housekeeping and provide a small bottle of body wash, you'll need to bring shampoo and conditioner. There are supermarkets nearby you can get to very easy with PassApp and get any essentials you need :) The curtains in the room don't block sunlight, but it didn't bother me cause I can easily go back to sleep. There is a small fridge and water kettle in the room, and you'll get 2 bottles of water daily. You can also get your laundry done and it should be done in 24 hours if the weather is good for drying time. They have a pool and a great restaurant in the front. The staff is friendly and very attentive. They have different types of live music on different nights during the week :) They also have a table with pamphlets of different activities around Siem Reap and they can help you book certain ones. I highly recommend Phare, The Cambodian Circus, they can help you get tickets for this performance. I didn't use this service because I was already in Siem Reap, but they also offer free airport pickup. You can put everything you spend during your stay on a tab and pay when you check out. If you want a home away from home, stay at Villa D!

Wonderful place and wonderful people. Great foods.

I was a long term resident at Villa D and felt very fortunate to stay at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and kind and the facilities were kept clean and any facility issues were handled promptly. I really enjoy the cocktails here and would recommend anyone to stay here when you are in Siem Reap. Great location with great people

Ate there, it's delicious. Owners are super friendly. Cute dog!
