YIMI Inn in Guangzhou

I booked 3 nights but cancelled the last 2 due to unacceptable and discriminatory treatment.

I checked in early morning. The receptionist gave me a WiFi password (“88888888”) that failed, knowing I had no Chinese number but not mentioning it was required. I only discovered this policy when I returned that evening.

A different staff member (overweight man) then stated WiFi was only for Chinese phone numbers—a rule I’ve never seen in any other China hotel. I requested a refund since I couldn’t use a basic service promised at check-in, but was refused because I had already been out.

After arguing, he suddenly shouted, “You want WiFi, right? You need to give me!” and rudely demanded my phone. He finally configured it himself—after repeatedly saying “no choice” earlier.

Misleading at check-in, discriminatory in policy, and hostile in service. Foreign guests should avoid.


我预订了3晚，最终因恶劣对待取消后两晚。

我一大早办理入住，前台给了我一个无法连接的WiFi密码（“88888888”），她知道我没有中国手机号，却隐瞒了此项规定。直到晚上回酒店，我才被告知。

另一位体型较胖的男员工称，WiFi仅限中国手机号使用——我在中国其他酒店从未遇此规定。我因无法使用入住时承诺的服务要求退款，却被以“已外出”为由拒绝。

争论后，他突然冲我吼道：“你不是要WiFi吗？那你得给我！” 并粗鲁地要求我交出手机。最终是他自己设置的——而此前他一直说“没办法”。

前台隐瞒政策、规定存在歧视、员工态度恶劣。外国旅客切勿入住。

not too much clean

In short: it was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in all my travels!
In more detail:
When you check into your room, the first thing you notice is the awful smell. It smelled like a mixture of cigarettes, mold, and dampness!
Then you see the dirt. It was dirty everywhere! From the reception desk to my room! There were stains on the walls, ceilings, and bathroom.
And at night, a mouse running under the ceiling kept me awake!
I have never seen such a terrible room!
When I asked to move, the administration said there were no rooms available.
This ruined my entire vacation in Guangzhou.
P.S. If the hotel administration writes under this review that they are sorry, it's a lie. They don't care.
