Wangcheng Boutique Hotel (Guilin Liangjiang Sihu Dongxi Alley Shop) in Guilin

1. The room constantly smelled of smoke and was stuffy. There were also mosquitoes, even with an electronic mosquito repellent plugged in.
2. The air conditioning wasn't on, but there was a sudden, loud, continuous noise coming from the AC unit. It would stop occasionally then start up again. I suspect it's due to poor soundproofing, perhaps the outdoor unit from an upstairs or downstairs room.
3. The soundproofing is terrible. I could clearly hear loud movements from upstairs, as well as conversations and noises from the hallway and other rooms.
4. The hygiene was poor; the cabinets were covered in dust and grime.
5. The TV didn't work. After turning it on, it continuously displayed 'no signal.' The remote had power but couldn't operate the TV.
6. The lighting was very dim, which I suspect was to hide the hygiene issues.
7. There was a small window, but it was in the bathroom and connected to the hallway, offering no ventilation whatsoever. I don't understand its purpose.

Most, most, most, most, most, most, most importantly, the soundproofing is abysmal!!! I could hear everything clearly – people talking, using water, and making phone calls in their rooms!!!

In summary, avoid this place.
