Holiday Inn Express HONG KONG MONGKOK by IHG in Hong Kong

We recently stayed at this hotel and had a comfortable experience overall. The rooms are a little small, but they are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. One thing worth noting is that the hotel does not provide complimentary bottled water in the rooms. However, there is a water dispenser on every floor where guests can refill their bottles, which is convenient and environmentally friendly.

The location is excellent. The nearest MTR station, Yau Ma Tei, is only a 5–7 minute walk away. The hotel is also close to Sino Centre, and buses are easily available from the main road nearby. From the airport, Bus A21 drops passengers directly near Sino Centre, making the journey quite convenient.

The breakfast staff were extremely polite, helpful, and welcoming. However, the breakfast menu could be significantly improved. We stayed for eight nights, and the menu remained exactly the same every day. After a few days, the lack of variety became quite disappointing. Most of the breakfast items were non-vegetarian, and as vegetarians our choices were largely limited to hash browns, bread, beans, and a few basic accompaniments.

The hotel should consider introducing at least two breakfast menus on an alternate-day basis or a rotating menu throughout the week. More importantly, a dedicated vegetarian breakfast section with a wider variety of options would greatly enhance the experience for vegetarian guests.

The biggest drawback we experienced was the lack of concierge, bellboy, or shuttle service. After arriving from the airport, we had to drag our luggage from the bus stop to the hotel ourselves, which was particularly difficult as we were travelling with a stroller and a baby. There is also no luggage assistance available to take bags to the room. Thankfully, the front desk staff were very kind and helped us with our luggage during check-in after noticing how exhausted we were.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay and no major issues with the hotel. The staff were courteous, the location was convenient, and the rooms were comfortable. However, introducing better luggage assistance and a more varied breakfast menu, especially for vegetarian guests, would greatly improve the overall guest experience.

Yo the toilet in the hotels should add some locks on them please, I’m a guy who really values my privacy when I’m butt booty naked. Other than that the hotel was goated. The service was great especially the guy at the breakfast area. I don’t know his name but I called him Ronaldo cos he spotted me wearing a Kaka jersey one time and he told me he was Ronaldo and I rolled with it, he was my goat, served me breakfast every morning for 10 days straight and he was a vibe bro, I’m telling you give this guy a raise. He made my day at a crisp 8am for 10 days, That’s some service yo. I can’t even tell you the amount of umbrellas the hotel borrowed me cos my umbrella broke, goated. Please get some better utensils though not those sporks.

The reception is very professional and friendly. Communicating in English was great. Location is convenient and is a 10min walk to the train station. There are small hardware shops within a 5min radius, but beyond that, you will see all the nice eating places and shopping malls. A budget friendly hotel. Room is large. The floor I stayed on was 11th, and they had not renovated the flooring yet, hence, there is a musky bad smell emanating from the aged carpet. Overall, good location, good service, good price.

Clean room, simple breakfast, moderate location
The room was clean and comfortable, just the right size for a short stay. Breakfast was simple but enough to start the day — mainly bread, eggs, and some fruit. The location is decent, about 10–15 minutes’ walk to the nearest MTR station, so it’s not the most convenient if you have lots of luggage, but manageable. Staff were polite and check-in was smooth. Overall, a good value stay if you don’t mind walking a bit.

Good location with restaurants and cafes nearby. Not too far to walk to MTR. Breakfast is fairly good with multiple choices. Room is spacious. The water pressure is a bit low but acceptable. Was a pleasant stay.

Hotel was clean and tidy! Breakfast was amazing, but a point to improve on would be to have more hotel facilities like gym and swimming pool
