Xi'an Chenggong International Hotel in Xi'an

Not a bad place to stay for foreigners in Xi'an. The area was pretty safe coming back at night, and there were quite a few restaurants and public transit within walking distance. The Muslim Quarter was also quite walkable, as is the whole city, especially if you're not keen on going through security, buying metro passes and everything in the subway. Breakfast is provided and is all traditional Chinese food and fills you up quite well. Recommend staying here!

Rooms are good and clean. The lobby could be better but it's ok. The breakfast is pretty much chinese.

If you are having a trip to Xi'an and needed some budget stay, this Ibis hotel will be suitable for you. You might have difficulties communicating because most of the staffs and even the front desk staffs can't speak proper English.

The room is spacious enough (at least for me) but the interior was slightly dated. Besides a bit of cigarette smoke smell, i have no complaints about the hotel. The place was slightly further from the city center but you can always rent a bicycle or buy Xian public transport card to commute via bus.

The city wall is walking distance and if you are looking for halal food, there is one halal place nearby the hotel and a lot cheaper than eating at Muslim street too.

Like the hotel. Clean and the amenities that i need are available. This is not Shang ri-la Plaza or Ritz carlton or marriot, or the likes; so do not expect too much. They supply toothpaste, brushes, green tea and water. Bathroom is nice and clean. Bed is on the firmer side which I really like. Linens are clean. Lighting of the room is ok. but it smells like cigarrete even in my room ( non smoking). Shows on TV are all in chinese. Scrolled and did not find any english speaking or any translated to english show or english subtitles. Buffet breakfast is ok. Food caters more to chinese or asian communities, which is expected. Over all for the price, this is very worth the stay. Will come back.

Update: nobody speaks english at the reception. Need to do a lot of translation thru google translate.

Good price for outsider. Clean room. Near walk distance to attraction places, such as Fortification of Xi'an, The Bell Tower, The Drum Tower, Wild Goose Pagoda, The Muslim Street for food, and many more.

Brands itself as the Chenggong International Hotel but it runs as/is owned by Ibis. I had a great stay, the hotel is cheap with no surprises so I have no complaints. Great location for exploring Xi’an inside the city walls and close to public transport.
