Beautiful and quiet hotel just a short walk to the old town. Even better is the morning market across the street with loads of fruit and freshly baked breads. Find the beef shaobing flatbreads and thank me later.

Staff speak excellent English and are very helpfu.

Good location. We really enjoy the stay as its very close to attraction. The lady is also very helpful, help to wash our clothes n ordering take away food. You should stay here in Dali

Rooms are clean, and the hotel comes with complimentary usage of washing machine, detergent and dryer. Location is very near the 古城, and just about 100m away from the local market, with many breakfast spots frequented by the locals.

Hotel staff were also very helpful in looking at our itinerary and making suggestions. Would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends visiting Dali!

The hotel location is quite close by the Dali ancient city. I like the vibe of the hotel, traditional ancient atmospshere. The rooms is really clean and neat and the most importantly is the hotel staffs, very friendly, accommadating and helpful. My family have a car pick up at 5.30am, the driver went up to help bring down the luggage and the staff almost help us for smooth check out. Thank you guys. Hope to come back again. See you.. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We were supposed to get Santayuan a supposedly five star hotel in the Ancient Town of Dali or within a short distance away but were told at the very last mile that we are staying in Shuiyuan Academy Boutique Hotel. The name it self was perceived to be a “down grade” and was not very receptive of such offer. The explanation was of course of location!!! Strategically located at the outside edge of the ancient city and since we are checking in only after 10pm, this reasoning were skeptically accepted. Upon arrival was rather surprised to see the architecture of this boutique hotel. Cozy, artistically decorated and definitely plenty of wood decor plus the theme tea was blaring. It was not until the next morning when we choose to explore the whole complex that we realized that our skepticism was wrong. I typically was intrigued by the interior decoration of choices within the hotel. Not only was it tastefully decorated to reflect the theme of tea merchant it’s also ecologically decorated with much greenery and inner garden vibes reflected all throughout the hotel. The impressive food spread offered for a Chinese standard of breakfast choices is extremely surprising. If any one looking for a review for hotels and if you find mine helpful please do not feel obligated as I am definitely going to give this “boutique” hotel a three thumbs up 👍👍👍. Nothing that we felt comfortable nor disappointed at nor will you , should you find my writing helpful.
