Hotel Purkmistr in Plzen

From the moment I arrived, the experience was negative. At the reception I was told that it’s not possible to keep an open bill and pay for everything at checkout, even though they already had my card details secured through Booking. This was extremely inconvenient and gave a very poor first impression.

The room itself was okay, but I was staying alone and found an odd note on the bed telling me to use only one side of it. If this is their standard practice and they only change one side afterwards, I honestly doubt how clean the bedding really is. It’s impossible to sleep on a double bed without at least touching the other side during the night.

Then came the worst part: when I lifted the pillow, I saw that the bedsheet didn’t even cover the entire mattress. That means you are basically sleeping directly on a mattress where countless guests have rested their heads and hair before you. Completely unacceptable.

After months of anticipation and a dedicated side trip to Pilsen for this specific experience, we visited the Hotel Purkmistr for a beer spa experience on September 12. The actual beer spa was beautiful and beer was delicious. With that being said, we did not have the peaceful, relaxing experience described on your website. We were surprised that the back of our room was open to a central hallway where we could technically walk into the other spa rooms. As a result, this was not private and the noise travelled between rooms. Furthermore, we were directly beside another couple who talked very loudly and constantly throughout the experience as if they were at their kitchen table. This continued in the quiet bed zone post spa with the gentleman actually watching a loud video on his phone in addition to talking with his partner. We feel that guests should be told to refrain from loud talk prior to the experience and that guests not following this request should be reminded as this has a huge impact on the experience of others. When we brought our concerns forward to the spa reception, she was uncaring and said that if we wanted peace and privacy, we should have booked an experience in the wellness zone. She offered no compensation for this terrible experience other than a glass of beer, which we declined. We were extremely upset but she wouldn't allow us to speak to a supervisor as she was not on site. We subsequently cancelled our reserved dinner that we had also looked forward to at the same location. Upon return to our hotel, we sent an email to her manager, Lucie, where we brought forward our concerns. Over three weeks later, we never received an email response from Lucie, which is equally disappointing. We are very upset that we made a special trip to Pilsen for this spa experience and never plan to return. A similar experience was advertised in the town in an actual private room which we wish we had chosen instead.

I spent 3 night there and none of them was calm. Every night (after 11pm) I needed to go to hotel yard to calm loud drunk parties. Hotel personnel obviously did not care. If you are here, better know police number
